Hi I'm Christina Daniel

I was born in Cornwall in a little village called Illogan near Redruth. I am a Mormon joined when I was 19.

About Me

I am retired now but used to work with children helping them with their problems of fitting in at school and home. Anger management, complying to family values. respecting parents. especialising in teenagers but children from 5-18years. I am a mother of three wonderful sons and have been married for fourty years to my school sweetheart. I have many hobbies. I love to sing and belong to two singing groups outside the church. I love to sing Cornish songs old and newalong with a varied rounds and chants from around the world. I love to write poetry, cook cakes, and spent time with my grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

At the age of 19 I felt alone and not understood. I had been brought up in the Methodist religion so my head was full of the love of Jesus and his father God. I loved the stories in the bible. We had moved house and I didnt fit in anywhere. I went a bit wild from the age of 16 -19.but like all of us in time I needed to settle. My mother and younger sister had changed to the Mormon Religion from Methodism. I had no faith during these years. Then finally I found myself pregnant and alone. I knew I didn't want my child to have a mother who didn't care much about life or God. I wanted the child to be brought up like I was in beliving in a Heavenly Father who loves everyone no matter what. I read the story of Joseph Smith and Prayed to the Lord to answer my prayer let me know in my heart, if this church was true. One night after praying and crying to the lord ,I felt a burning in my heart, I knew it was true. This young boy was only 14 years old he could not have suffered so much for a lie or a story. He suffered so much in his life. All he had t do was deny it was true. He said," I could not deny I had seen God and his son Jesus Christ. I knew it, and God knew it," and finally I knew it too. I turned my life around and never looked back. I have made a few mistakes in my life but one things for sure. My Heavenly Father knows and loves me. He asks me to live this life, the best I can, he will forgive me if I am humble enough to admit I am wrong and keep trying. So forty years on since my baptism I am still trying to be like Jesus, I'm following in his ways. I am so happy. I live my life knowing where I came from, what I have to do here, and where I am going when I leave this world. I believe that one day I will be reunited with my parents and my ancestors. This is thanks to the Temple promises I made between me and Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I am the leader of the young women in my church. I love this as we try to find fun things to do while living the gospel together. We meet in the week and follow the saviours plan of happiness. Living in Cornwall surrounded by the sea its great to go to the beach and enjoy this beautiful world God has created for us. Or to the woods feeding squirls, listening to the birds. We are so lucky to live in this part of the world. I am also a visiting teacher, which means each month I visit a few sisters I am assigned to and share a spiritual message with them. Also to get close to them and be their friend to be there on the phone if they need support. I also have a visiting teacher assigned to me and she is a good friend to me listening to me woes as well as sharing happy times with me.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Christina Daniel
The Bible is the Words of God and we follow this but we also have other scriptures that help us stay on the true path back to his presents. I believe the bible to be the word of God but we have a Prophet on the earth today who gives us council from our Heavenly Father. The book of Mormon is a book like th bible written by Prophets of old these two books together along with modernday Doctrine as stated in offical church answer to this question. All these thing helps us live day by day on this earth. If you read them all your understanding of our Heavenly Father Plan for us. Show more Show less
