Hi I'm Selina

I grew up all over the United States. I love international development work. I know my Savior lives. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an avid learner and world traveler. I study Sociology, International Development, Non-profit Management, and Spanish at Brigham Young University. I plan to spend my life working in humanitarian organizations around the world, raising a beautiful family, growing gardens, making music, having profound discussions, going on adventures, serving in the Church, and sharing the joy of the Gospel with everyone I meet. I've lived all over - a few years each in Texas, California, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Utah, and a few months each in Arizona, Costa Rica, and Mexico. Each place I go and each person I meet enriches my life. I believe profoundly that "the worth of souls is great in the sight of God," and that each person is a child of God with infinite potential. I want my life to reflect that belief as I learn from each individual I meet and help them grow in return.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm about to make five very bold claims. Ready? 1) We have a perfect, all-knowing Heavenly Father (God) who loves us. 2) He has a perfect Plan to help us become like Him, receive all that He has, and live in joy now and forever. 3) He lets us know about this Plan through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and provides everything we need to help us accomplish it (for example, modern prophets and scriptures to guide us, commandments, sacred promises, etc). 4) The full, complete Gospel of Jesus Christ can be found only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 5) I, Selina Miller, know by the power of the Spirit of God that these things are true. My parents raised me as a Mormon, yes. But I am Mormon because of Truth, not tradition. I have attended more than half a dozen other churches over the years (and found a lot of good in all of them). I've studied, pondered, prayed, and searched. I came to my own knowledge of the truth of the Gospel through a lifetime of trying it out for myself, experiencing the blessings, and feeling the Spirit of God testify to my soul. My conviction continues to grow stronger every day. I know that I'm on the path to the truest happiness there is. I've tasted a little bit of it already. But I by no means expect anyone to take my word for it. I invite everyone to find out for themselves. Once you experience the joy, I bet you'll want to be a Mormon, too. ;)

How I live my faith

Living my faith extends into every aspect of who I am and what I do. I am cheerful and positive because of my faith in Christ and my hope in God's plan for me. I seek to learn and grow because I know I am a daughter of God with divine potential. I serve others because I see them as my brothers and sisters, children of my Heavenly Father. I hope that my life will reflect my faith more each day. I'm currently serving an 18-month full-time mission for my church. My purpose as a missionary is to invite and help others to come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. I feel privileged to represent Him in sharing His restored gospel with God's children in both Alabama and Peru. I know that the gospel can bless all people in every aspect of their lives, so I live my religion by loving others enough to share it.
