Hi I'm Thomas

I'm from the U.S. I'm a history buff and reading fanatic. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of six children to Jim and Molly New. I'm also the tallest in the family, standing in at 6'7". I like to read, play all kinds of sports, play video games, and hang out with family and friends. I attended BYU for a year and then went back home to Las Cruces to earn money to go on my mission to San Diego; that's where I am right now!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and my parents are both converts, my mom being baptized first and then helping to convert my dad. When I was a kid, I always read the Bible and Book of Mormon as if they were both history books with indisputable facts. As life has gone on, I've been convinced of their truthfulness, not just in the secular manner but in the spiritual import that they both have as well. I know that the scriptures and Christ can change lives if you're open to being changed, and that's what I want to help people do.

How I live my faith

I try to always be a volunteer for whatever kind of service I can find, whether it's chopping up firewood for the elderly in my ward or teaching a class for my Elder's Quorum, which is usually a class of about twenty to thirty men ages 20-30 as well. But right now, I'm serving a mission for my church, and that is the biggest and best way to completely live my faith.

Are Mormons Christians?

I can't say it any better than GBH did. As long as you believe in Christ as your Savior and Redeemer, you are a Christian. It's that simple. Show more Show less
