Hi I'm Caitlin Miller

I'm from Sunny California! I'm going on a mission to Saporro Japan in July. I am one of 6 kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, my name is Caitlin. I am 20 years old. I have been born and raised in Southern California. I come from a large family. I am one of six kids. I am currently preparing to serve a mission for the church in Sapporo Japan

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17 years old i started to have a lot of doubt regarding the church as well as whether or not God was real. I remember feeling so low in my life and often times felt depressed. I decided that I needed to decide for myself if the church was true and if it was something that I was going to be apart of. I started praying to my Heavenly Father to know if he loved me and if the church was true. I prayed for weeks without feeling like I had received an answer to my prayers. One day while listening to a talk called "God's love for his children" I remember having an overwhelming feeling that my Father in Heaven knew who I was and that he loved me. It was a warmth in my heart that filled my whole being. I knew that God was listening to my prayers and I knew that my membership in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints made him happy. I know that he loves us and that he will answer our prayers, all we have to do is ask.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by agreeing to do those callings which the Lord see's fitting. I am currently serving as a branch missionary in my singles branch.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Caitlin Miller
Not every member of the church is required to serve a mission, but i feel like if they believe the church is true and it is at a time in their life when they can that they should, and it is strongly encouraged. I made the decision to serve a mission about 9 months ago. I had been feeling very confused about what to do with my life. I wasn't getting married, I wasn't sure what to study in school, and I wasn't really enjoying life the way that i should. I just didn't feel happy. I decided to pray and ask my Heavenly Father what I should be doing my life and I pleaded to know if there was something else i should be doing that would make me happier. I received my answer when the President of the church was speaking to the members during an annual general conference. He announce that the age requirement for missionaries had been changed, young men would now be able to leave when they were 18 rather than 19 and women would be allowed to leave when they turned 19 rather than 21. It was in that moment that I knew I was supposed to serve a mission and it was another testimony to me that Heavenly Father loved me and that he listens and answers our prayers. Show more Show less
