Hi I'm Tyler

I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm attending BYU-Idaho, and will serve a mission shortly. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Tyler. I'm attending Brigham Young University Idaho--, but I'm putting school off for two years to serve a mission for the Lord in Argentina. My family is my life! I love them all. I'm the second oldest of six, and it's just a blast in my house. I love sports-- swimming especially. Making and listening to music keep me going. If I could sell all my possesions and hike for the rest of my life I think I would. Writing in my journal is a huge hobby of mine as well!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but over time, I have had to make life changing decisions whether I would continue faithful, or place my faith on the end of the list of my priorities. Through prayer, serious contemplation and study, and then receiving a witness from the Holy Ghost, I was able to come to the knowledge that this really is God's church, and that he wants me to be in it. I never had one defining moment where this knowledge hit me; instead, I came to know that this gospel is true through over time and through hard work. It has been such a blessing in my life! I have such a strong testimony in the atonement. I know that it is so real, and that our Savior died for each one of our sins. He did it on an individual level, and he knows us and loves us so much. I know that people can CHANGE and that if we just turn our lives over to the Savior, we may be able to overcome our struggles and truly dedicate our lives to our loving Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to make the most of service opportunities that may arise. I'm not great with service, but I know that if we work to become like Christ in this aspect, we may grow closer to him. I love reading the scriptures! The New Testament (especially the gospels) and the Book of Mormon are my favorite. I know that both of these books are the word of God. The Book of Mormon has shaped my life, and from it, I derive strength to be righteous and to become more like my Savior. I've chosen to serve a full time mission, and have been called to Argentina. I am so excited that I have the opportunity to serve the Lord, and serve the Argentines for two years. It will be an amazing experience where I get to share this joy and incredible gospel, and labor to bring people closer to Jesus Christ.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is amazing. Essentially, it is another witness of Jesus Christ, and through studying of this book as well as the Bible and the use of modern revelation, we may come closer and closer to our Savior and come to find strength and answers to our lives. I love the Book of Mormon. It has blessed my life, and I feel incredible when I read it. I have read every single page, multiple times. I have studied it and prayed about it, and I have come to know that it is true. What a blessing our loving Heavenly Father has given us! Show more Show less
