Hi I'm Carter

I have grown up in Arizona. I like to play guitar, wakeboard, and lift weights. I'm a Mormon and I love it!

About Me

I was born in 1994 in Arizona and I'm currently attending college. I am majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in biology and I hope to become a dentist one day. My favorite subject in school is science. I am the oldest in my family and I have 2 little brothers and a little sister. I play electric guitar and my favorite music to play is rock. I like to lift weights every day and jump rope and hit the punching bag as a side workout. One of my favorite things to do is go to the lake and go wakeboarding. My favorite food is everything except for broccoli. I love to spend time in the outdoors and I am an Eagle Scout. In high school I got straight A's and was a member of the National Honor Society. I love to do service for people and giving of my time to help others is one of my favorite things to do. I enjoy making people laugh. I love smiling-- it's something I do regularly. Most importantly, I love my family! They are my best friends and I love spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I found out for myself that it is true. I don't go to church because anyone makes me or because I feel obligated to be Mormon, I am one because I want to be. I am Mormon because I know that by keeping all of God's commandments and by living up to what He wants me to be, He will bless me. I have had many experiences in my life that have contributed to my belief that have added up to be my testimony of the truthfulness of the teachings of the church. I have prayed to God to ask if this church is true and if the Book of Mormon is true, and I received the answer through the Holy Spirit that they are true. My testimony of this is crucially important to me in my life. It shapes who I am and how I act. I know that it makes my life so much better than what it would be without it. I am happier with the gospel in my life and I know that my happiness comes from being a Mormon and by living the teachings and principles of the gospel. I receive guidance in my life through reading the scriptures and praying. I love the Church and my Savior Jesus Christ and because of the love I have, I continue to attend church and live the principles of the gospel. I want to show my Savior that I try my hardest to follow Him, and I know that the way to follow Him is by living the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday. I haven't missed a Sunday in years. Every morning during the week, I wake up and say my prayers to begin my day. In those prayers, I thank the Lord for all the blessings that I have. After praying, I read the scriptures-- either the Bible or the Book of Mormon. Then at night, I read the scriptures again. I read from whatever book I had not yet read from that morning. After reading the scriptures, I say my prayers. In addition to reading from the scriptures, I read from several different manuals and prepare lessons that I sometimes teach on Sundays. When I teach, I am teaching a class for newly baptized members and for people who are visiting that Sunday. I also live my faith by giving service. As part of this service, I show up early every Sunday to help set up chairs or to write announcements on whiteboards or to pass out hymn books. Another thing I do to give service is visit members that are less active to invite them to come to church meetings and activities. There are many community service projects that are organized by the Church that I also participate in. I live my faith by striving to keep God's commandments and by trying to be a good influence and positive example to those around me.
