Hi I'm Tammy

I'm from Jersey (small island off France), Channel Islands. I love music, sports and being by the sea. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Jersey, Channel Islands in a family of 5. I've been to college and studied A levels in Biology, Photography and Geography, I also took part in an Outdoor Adventure/Watersports course. I am now wanting to aim towards getting a degree in nursing so I can help people when they most need it. I am now serving as a full time missionary and I have been called to go to Australia, Sydney. I can't wait to be able to share what I know with others, and let them see in their own lives the happiness that the gospel can give. I know I have a lot to learn before I go, but Heavenly Father will help me once I have done all that I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't know where I would be without the church. I am a mormon because it brings me true happiness. I have grown up in the gospel, but didn't truly gain my own testimony until I was 18 when I realized I wasn't where I wanted to be in my life and I wasn't truly happy. I decided that I would pray and look to the scriptures for answers. That morning I found my answer in Mosiah 2:41, I felt so strongly that I needed to be doing all that I could to follow the commandments more fully and look to Christ for help. The gospel has helped me so much in my life, and it never ceases to amaze me how Heavenly Father is always watching out for us. He knows what we are going through and he just wants to help us. He guides us along the path. Living the gospel the best we can doesn't mean we don't have challenges and adversity, but it helps me to see them in a more positive way, knowing that the challenges we face will never be more then Heavenly Father knows we can cope with. I know that this church is true with all my heart. It helps as all to strive to be the best we can. None of us are perfect, we all make mistakes but we are all striving for the same goal. And as we all aim for that and do our best we can strengthen those around us, our friends, family, those we meet in our everyday lives and be examples of Christ.

How I live my faith

I attend church every week when possible. Due to my job at the moment I can only go every other week, but I love going, and I can always feel the difference when I can't make it. It is lovely just to be with those with the same beliefs as you and to learn from each other through the lessons. I have been a youth leader which means teaching young women aged 12-18 about different subjects in the gospel. I loved doing this and it helped my own testimony as well as theirs. It was so nice to see them grow and change as they took on board things which were taught to them each week. We also plan activities to do in the week such as bowling, bbq's, random games, camping etc
