Hi I'm Kimber Reid Gordon

I play bass guitar. I adore math and science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, the oldest of three, and a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, assigned to serve in the France Paris region. I have grown up with a love for math and science, but music has a special place in my heart as well. I am currently a student at my local university studying Material Science and Engineering due to my love of chemistry, but some of my favorite classes include a choir class, of which I am a part. Any kind of singing or music has always been important to me, and I have played both the string bass, bass guitar, and piano for a number of years. In my free time, I love jam sessions with various musical friends, and reading novels.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, with valiant members surrounding me on all sides of my life. I have felt such love and light from this gospel, that I have no doubt whether I am in the right place. I have had my fair share of rough times and poor decisions in this life, and my membership in and support from my brothers and sisters in the gospel has helped me through these times. I have felt the direct love from my Father in Heaven multiple times, and I cannot, and will not, deny it.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the LDS church, I had many opportunities to work as a youth leader in various capacities (from secretary to president of a class). Soon after graduating from the youth program when I turned 18, I was called to work as an adult adviser to these same youth. I have had the opportunity to teach Sunday lessons, as well as plan meaningful play and service activities for 12-13 year old girls in the program. I am currently preaching this gospel of joy to the people of Paris France in the French language. I love the people there; I know they are children of God who deserve to feel the happiness that the gospel has brought to me.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Kimber Reid Gordon
The Mormon Temple is not unlike temples in the old testament; similar to the children of Israel's temples. Members may go to learn eternal truths, be sealed together as families for eternity, and provide service to those who have died without the opportunity to accept the gospel. Such wonderful and beautiful things occur in the temples, that those who are not well prepared spiritually, would not honor such marvelous blessings with the dignity they deserve. Those who are prepared (after baptism, and other learning through attending church and obeying God) are encouraged to enter often, and learn. We have the hope that one day, all may be well prepared to enter and learn such beautiful truths. Show more Show less
