Hi I'm Kaden Alexander Calderwood

I grew up in northern Virginia. Started college at BYU. Now I am a Missionary in Moscow, Russia. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in Northern Virginia. I was very busy in high school. I ran both the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles. I was student body president. I am an eagle scout. I sang in concert choir and sang in the district choir. I am a college student. I haven't decided what to study yet, however I would love to teach one day.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born and raised in the church, that is not the reason I am a Mormon. At a point I needed to find out for myself that the church was true. I needed to stop relying on my parents testimony. So thats what I did. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. I prayed everyday and tried to act as Christ would act. I now know for myself that God lives. He is a loving Father and he has a plan for us. His plan is centered on Jesus Christ and will allow us to become like Him. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior. He suffered for my sins so that I can be made pure. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. It brings us happiness and everlasting joy. Joseph Smith really truly restored the gospel of Jesus Christ to this earth. We have a prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson. He leads and guides us according to God's will. I know this for myself and this is why I am a Mormon. This gospel makes me so happy. I hold my testimony sacred and it is more important than anything else I own.

How I live my faith

I grew up going to church each sunday. I would go to the youth activity each week. I would invite my friends to these activities as well. In my ward at college, I was very involved with helping the ward function. I was the Executive Secretary and I would help the Bishop with all of his duties. I was also assigned as a home teacher. I was assigned people in my ward to visit each month and bring them a spiritual thought and do something nice for them. I became very good friends with the people I home taught and spent time with them when I wasn't home teaching them. I also read the scriptures every single day. I pray everyday as well. These things coupled with living the things that I learn from them, make me so happy. I am currently serving the Lord and the people of Russia as a missionary in the Russia Moscow Mission. I teach people about Jesus Christ and what he taught. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ and help them follow His example.
