Hi I'm Priscila

I am from the Azores Islands. I love smiling and seeing the positive of things. I'm now a full-time missionary and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the Azores Islands. I studied Mechanical Engineering at BYU-Idaho and loved it! I am now a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission and I also served in the Portugal Lisbon Mission for a few months. I love sharing what makes me happy with everyone around me! I believe the key to happiness is gratitude! I enjoy focusing on the positive, and by the end of the day I always count my blessings. I also believe trials are blessings in disguise!

Why I am a Mormon

Because I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father, who loves us, and I love Him! I know God reached out in love again by calling a prophet to bring back all the things that were lost when Jesus Christ and the apostles were killed. I know that prophet was Joseph Smith. And we have a proof of all this, which we can hold in our hands: The Book of Mormon! The Book of Mormon brings us closer to Christ. I find answers to my questions by reading it! And I know that if you read it, ponder the message it contains, and then ask God if it is true, He'll will manifest the truth of it unto you through the power of the Holy Ghost!

How I live my faith

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is everything to me, and all that matters to me has been a gospel blessing. Knowing that God knows me personally and loves me makes me happy and gives me the courage to endure the trials that come my way! For this reason I interrupted my studies, my work and my social life for a year and a half to be a full-time volunteer sharing what I know to be true. This knowledge brings peace and happiness in my life. I love to share the joy with others by serving them, for I know that when we serve others we are serving God! Everyday I have the opportunity to share what I know to be true with people from all over the world! I love to see their reactions to the message I share, especially when they accept the challenge to find out for themselves if it is true.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Priscila
I compare Church with school, where we go to learn the basic doctrines of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and Temple with college, where we go to learn the higher things. Churches are open to public and so visitors are welcome. There we meet to pray, study the scriptures and partake of the sacrament. Here we worship together as families. The Temple, is the House of God, it is a sacred place, and so only members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who obey God's commandments are allowed to enter. There we learn about the purpose of life, and we make promises with God, such as marriage. The marriages performed in Temples are valid for all eternity, and so the purpose of the Temple is so that we can have eternal families, a father, a mother and the children together forever. In the Temples we worship individually. Show more Show less
