Hi I'm Ben

I'm English, happy and live a pretty hectic life. Oh, I'm a Mormon too.

About Me

I am 22 and I have 2 real passions in my life. 1) Exercise and being outdoors. 2) Music (not that I can play anything..). I love to exercise, whether it's a 15miles cycle commute to work or going out with my friends to run the 3 yorkshire peaks, I love it all. I think it's always been a big part of my life and as I've got older exercise has become the thing that makes me - me! When I was young my dad got me into cycling and when I turned 18 we cycled from York where I live to John O' Groats (the most northerly point in scotland) in 5 days. Since then it's been one of my favorite things to do and it basically consumes all of my time and efforts every summer! I also really enjoy running with my friends and rock climbing with my brother (he is tons better than me!). I also love music, anything new. Me and my friends all love dancing and finding the newest, freshest music there is. everywhere I go I always have my music playing, especially when I'm out for a run or a ride. When it's a good day the right song can make me feel on top of the world. Right now I work for an energy consultancy company and do compliance calculations for new buildings (schools, fire stations, blocks of flats etc...) very boring, I know. But I work with friends and we have a blast together and work well hard in the mean time!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. So I guess you could say it wasn't my choice. I have always known it's right, there has never been a question in my mind whether I was wasting my time here or not. I think there are two things that most people search for in life (I know I do). 1) Happiness. 2) Direction or Purpose. This church gives both to me. Nothing can compare to the knowledge that the way I choose to live my life is acceptable to God, and I'm grateful for all of the blessings that come with that knowledge. The Book of Mormon can change lives. It has changed mine. I guess - in short, that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Church is great. haha, I really can't think of much more to say than that. church is honestly 3 of my favorite hours in the week, and the rest of my week usually revolves around trying to prepare for it. I teach two early morning scripture classes through the week to the church youth and that keeps me pretty busy/tired as the classes start at 6.30am! I do really enjoy it, the students have become great friends and I learn ALOT from them and from preparing the lessons.
