Hi I'm Eric

I am originally from Idaho but now live in Arizona. I love music, family, and the gospel. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Like many others my age, I left to serve a mission just weeks after I graduated. In highschool I was involved in the marching, concert, and jazz bands. My senior year, I was honored with the oportunity to be one of our school's drum majors. I also love playing ultimate frisbee and am a great fan of Major League Baseball. After returning from my mission in San Fernando, California, I'm attending University of Arizona in an effort to pursue a career in medicine. I am grateful for the privilege of education in my life. I hope to be able to serve many people by helping them live happy, healthy lives physically and spiritually.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not just because my parents are. Throughout my life I have studied and lived the Gospel to the very best of my ability. I have put to the test many promised blessings written in the scriptures and given to us through our Prophets and Apostles. They are true. I can testify that the Book of Mormon is true and that we have Prophets and Apostles on the earth today who receive revelation for us. It wasn't through some miraculous event that I came to know these things. Through prayer and the power of the Holy Ghost, I have found these things out for myself. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that He lives. He atoned for the sins of mankind so we can repent and return to live with Heavenly Father again. I know that my Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers, and that he loves each and everyone of us beyond our comprehension. What great peace this knowledge gives me.

How I live my faith

I have helped organize youth activities as part of my calling. I also had a duty to assign and follow-up with priests in my quorum to help bless the sacrament for a branch at a retirement home. I live my faith by always striving to serve those around me. I believe strongly that "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of God." That is why I have decided to serve a mission. I served a mission in the California San Fernando Mission. My purpose as a missionary is to invite other unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel. There is no greater work than to work for the salvation of men. I have been able to see the Spirit of God enter into the lives of those I teach. I live my faith by sharing it with others. Now I'm a ward missionary. I also love to attend the Temple and feel the Spirit there. The Temple literally is the House of God. It is there we come to understand our relationship with our Father in Heaven. I feel closer to Him every time I attend. It's my favorite place to be on the earth.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Eric
A testimony is something that you come to know through studying, pondering, and praying. It is something that you continue to gain throughout your life in the Gospel. You gain a testimony of something through tthe power of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is commonly felt as a burning in your chest or possible chills from your head to your toes, it feels different for each one of us. Show more Show less
