Hi I'm Austin

I'm from Rigby, Idaho and come from a good family that I love and would do anything for. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Austin Shippen and I have been on this earth for 19 years and was born into an LDS family. I recently have received my Mission call to the New York, New York South mission and am so grateful for the opportunity to serve our savior and to become a better disciple of Christ. I have grown up loving and playing sports and participating in any type of competition that I can get into. I am surrounded by good friends and family who I love and would do anything for. They have helped me with alot of problems and difficulties throughout the years and am very thankful for their support. I have attended two semesters at Brigham Young University Idaho and can't say enough about the good atmosphere and people in that area. In my life I have strived to live to the standards of the church and I know that I am blessed every day because of the decisions I make.

Why I am a Mormon

I live and love the gospel because of the joy that it brings to me. I have lived by the standards set by Prophets and other Brethren of our church and I know that I have been blessed because of it. I have been blessed with good health and a good family that I love and want to be with forever. I also want that for my future family and will not have it any other way than to spend the rest of eternity with them. I believe that everyone has mistakes and I have had many, but I know that through the atonement given to us by Jesus Christ we can be forgiven for our sins if we but repent and come unto him and better ourselves. I also have been blessed with safety and blessings that I can not count by our Heavenly Father. I love this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and know that if I do my best to live the gospel and its standards and endure to the end so I will be with my family, future family, and loved ones forever. Amen.

How I live my faith

Visiting teaching has always been a favorite assignment of mine. I enjoy going to neighbors homes and conversing with them and getting to know them better and especially love when the opportunity arises for me to be able to help them with whatever they need. I also taught on the 4th sunday in class with other male members who hold the same Priesthood that I do. I really enjoyed that calling and I believe it helped me more than it may have helped them. Although I really hope they got something out of my lessons:)

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mormon Missionaries proselyte because of the common love they have for other people, neighbors, loved ones in this world. I am a missionary and I have a testimony of the truthfulness of this church, its principles, and the Book of Mormon. I know that the gospel can bless any family if they seek out what they have been taught (Moroni 10:4-5). I am out proselyting because I want others to share this same joy, same testimony I have of Christ and His church. Amen Show more Show less
