Hi I'm Elder Davin Guinn

I was born and raised in SoCal. I am a college basketball player who left to serve a mission for the Lord. I´m a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta, California in 2012. That same year, I signed with the University of Califonia Riverside to play division 1 basketball that following year. I headed out to study and play at UC Riverside and managed to have a successful experience. During the season I was working on my mission papers so that I could serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I received my call to serve in the Puebla North, Mexico Mission in January and was asked to report to the MTC April 17th. I finished the season and prepared to leave for 2 years leaving behind my family and giving up my studies and basketball. I said goodbye to family and friends and headed to the airport with my 5 younger brothers and sisters, my mom and dad, and my grandparents. I am now currently serving in Puebla, Mexico and seeing the blessings that people come to have through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and through the LDS Church. The blessings the Gospel brings to these people, are the blessings I have had my entire life as a member of the Churchof Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; as a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints is true. I know that my family has been blessed because of our faith in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We have happiness and joy through our faith. I know God is my Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ is His son. I know Jesus Christ suffered for our sins so we can be forgiven and return to live with him and our Father in heaven. I am grateful for his sacrifice and the plan that God has for me, and all of His children. I know the Holy Ghost guides me, and I am grateful for his prescence. I know the Book of Mormon is true because I have received personal revalation and answers that have helped guide me in my life from it. It gives me a sense of peace and calmness when I study its words and teachings; the teachings of the prophets. I know Joseph Smith is a true prophet, and was the prophet who helped restore the Church and Gospel in this last dispensation. I am comforted when I read about his life and experience, which tells me he was a prophet of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet and leader of the Church today, and that he has been called of God. I know my family will be an eternal family, and live together forever in happiness, with our Heavenly Father. This knowledge, is why I am a Mormon. It has blessed my life in ways I cannot describe.

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith by serving a full-time mission. I live my faith because I know it has blessed my life immensely. The family I have, the blessings we have been given, and the knowledge that we will be an eternal family are blessings that I know have come through the Church, and through my faith. I am now trying to help others enjoy the same blessings that I have had in my life through my full-time service.
