Hi I'm Melena

I am a truth seeker and a full time missionary. I love to dance, laugh, talk, and eat! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a fun loving young woman who has grown up with a wonderful family, whom I love very much! I have had the opportunity to be exposed to many different opinions, beliefs, and cultures in my life and because of this I have had to decide early on what I believe and how I want to live my life. I have traveled to many countries, met many people, and seen many hardships in this world and this has given me a strong feeling of responsibility to Humanity. One of my many goals in life is to work in the field of Non-profit/Social Entrepreneurship. I can not bare to think of myself living life standing still I have a deep passion to be out in the world serving and bettering the world. To be able to do this I have to have an education and so I have been attending University and studying Anthropology. I have been called to seve a mission to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am currently Serving in the Ohio Cleveland Mission while i wait for my visa to Brazil. Being a missionary is the Best thing in the World! I get to feel the Spirit work through me to help others Everyday!

Why I am a Mormon

The question is not just why am I am Mormon, But why am I a follower of Christ? I choose to live a life that would mirror the Saviors and be as He would want it to be. The Church of Jesus Christ is the only fully true church on the earth and it is the restored church of Christ. We have the same authority that Christ bestowed on his apostles in Judea in this day and age and it is called the Preisthood. We have a Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who is just as the prophets of old. He is here to guide Christ's people in these difficult times. I know that God speaks to men and women today because I have heard his voice guide me throughout my life. I know that if you want to feel God's influence and love in your life you can speak to him through prayer and he will answer you. Please seek truth in all that you do and let the Spirit of God guide you to the happiness this church can give you.

How I live my faith

I am currently teaching a children's Sunday school class. It is a blast the kids are 7 to 8 years old so that keeps it interesting. My role is to help them learn about Jesus Christ and his divine mission. I do this by sincerely relating the simple truths of the gospel. I also have to get creative to be able to keep their attention for an hour. I am also using my time to prepare myself to be the best missionary I can be. I believe that the biggest part of living my faith is being valiant in what I know is right. Whether it is simply being kind to someone in need or repenting of my sins, I must try to do my best. The Lord paved the way for me and all his children to be able to attain happiness and I know that it is only through living alive as close to Jesus Christ as we can, that we will reach that goal!

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony starts as a desire to know if something is true, it then develops into a belief or a faith that it is true. Once this foundation is in place and you are truly acting on that principle that you wish to know is true, you will begin to have a witness, a knowledge that it is. This 'Testimony' comes through the support of reason and the conformation of the Holy Spirit of God. The foundation of a testimony is that Jesus Christ lives and is the Son of God and then after gaining that knowledge more will build upon it as you continue to seek truth and light.
