Hi I'm Alexandra

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in American Fork, Utah. I love playing music, and serving others.

About Me

I love music. I play the flute, piano, and cello. I'm going to college, studying Music Performance. I was a part of the Utah Ambassadors of Music in 2011 and toured all of Western Europe from England to Germany. I love to bake and cook.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. Growing up I was taught to keep the commandments and always be worthy in the presence of God. Now that I'm out on my own I can easily just forget about church, and everything I was taught. I don't. I won't! I will never forsake my testimony or what I believe in! I continue to live the gospel because I know I will struggle with out it. Living the gospel gives me blessings and helps me in my day to day life. I know as I continue to read and search the scriptures I will be guided. I know this church is the true church here on the earth today. I know that through my obedience and enduring to the end I will always have guardian angels to protect me. I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I serve others in my ward. I'm happy and try to be an example to those around me. I've been a president over my young women's group, as well as a councilor in each young women's class. I go to institute. I recently returned from serving as a full time missionary in, Portland, OR. For 18 months I shared the gospel to as many people as would be willing to listen. The experience helped me strengthen my testimony of Jesus Christ.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Heavenly Father loves ALL of his children. Not just a few of us. All of us. He wants all of His children to live with him again for all eternity. In order for this to happen everyone needs to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ and be baptized by someone holding the priesthood authority of God. Not everyone who has lived has had the opportunity to accept the gospel. After we die and are in the spirit world those souls will have the opportunity to hear the gospel. By doing proxy baptisms everyone has the opportunity to accept or reject the gospel, and have eternal progression. Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

The term, "Mormon" is a nickname that was given to us because we believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God just like the Bible. The reason it's called the Book of Mormon is because it is named after one of the last prophets that had written in it. We are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This has always been the name of our church. It is the official name of the church. However, It is a mouth full of words to say when you're introducing yourself as a member. So it's just easier to say Mormon. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

We must have faith in Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God. He is our Savior. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved in the kingdom of God. When you have faith in Jesus Christ you show to our Heavenly Father that you are willing to do His will and are willing to act on your belief in Him. When you have faith in Jesus Christ we trust that through him all mankind may be saved. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

They have a faith and a knowledge of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They see how it has blessed their lives, and have a desire to share it with everyone; that others may have the same blessings and joy in their lives. Show more Show less
