Hi I'm Amy Schweitzer

I am a lover of travel, an adorer of children, a fanatic of ice cream & I am a MORMON!

About Me

While raised in Arizona, I am currently a student at a small liberal arts college in Maine. I am studying psychology and education. I never turn down an opportunity to travel and see more of this beautiful world and all the good it has to offer. I have one wonderful older brother and two are the most loving parents around. I am a fan of running, taking countless pictures, kids, and of course... sweets! :)

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel is one of constant transformation and improvement! Everyday we each have the opportunity to strengthen our faith and become more like our Elder Brother, Jesus Christ. Two of the greatest commandments we are given is to love God and our neighbors. It is through the love we show to others, that they too may feel the deep peace and tranquility this gospel can bring. As we faithfully read, analyze and apply the teachings of the scriptures, pray earnestly and constantly strive to do as Christ would, we will develop a greater love for those around us. With that love comes the desire to serve and grow, fully devoting oneself to the gospel and army of God. We know God will reign. I know that if we remain on his winning team we will be able to live with him again. Through this gospel some of life's largest questions can be answered and a greater sense of purpose revealed.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday in our church, we have the opportunity to partake of the sacrament. Through this we renew our covenants to always remember Christ, take upon his name and keep his commandments. As I strive to fulfill these promises I have made, I attempt to do so not only through word but action. I fully believe that as one lives according to the spirit, they are blessed with a special light that others may see. That was me. A few short years ago I was that girl who was blessed to see the light of the gospel through my friends. I saw the joy they had in their lives and so earnestly wanted that for myself. It was them LIVING the gospel. It was their daily example that gave me a glimpse of the spirit and truth. Then as I turned to Moroni's promise I came to know for myself the truth this gospel holds. Now as a member of the church I strive to live in a way that I may be that example and light in someone else's life. As I live my faith, I understand while the gospel brings an infinite amount of happiness, we are still faced with earthy trials. It is only through these trials that we are able to grow and prepare to live with God again. When these come, it is our duty to do as Christ would. Mourn with those who mourn and weep with those who weep. The gospel is extraordinary. When one comes to fully devote their life to Christ, they want nothing more than to serve him. We are his hands and what an honor that is.
