Hi I'm Spencer Burt

I love Jesus, I like soccer, and I'm a Mormon or something.

About Me

I was born in Los Angeles, California, moved to Concord, New Hampshire, and then I've lived in Logan, Utah since I was 4. I went to Logan High School and studied at Utah State University for 1 year. I'm currently serving a in the Scotland/Ireland Mission. I've served in Omagh (Northern Ireland), Dundee (Scotland), Greenock (Scotland) and Lisburn (N. Ireland). Missionary work is fun. I want to get married someday.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad baptized me when I was 8 years old. I didn't think much of it at the time, but now I realize how much of a privilege it was to be raised in the Church of Jesus Christ, in a home centered on gospel principles. As I grew older, I kept hearing people saying we need to find out for ourselves if the Church is true. Through reading the Book of Mormon, praying to know its truth, I KNOW with all my heart that it is true, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet who gave his life for this Church, and the true gospel of Jesus Christ is again on the earth. And how marvelous it is!

How I live my faith

Faith is believing in something we can't see. Although I can't see God, I try to always act as if He were standing beside me. Sometimes we convince ourselves that keeping the commandments is restrictive, boring, or bothersome. But it truly does bring happiness--both here in this life and in the eternities. Life is hard, no matter who you are. But knowing that God and His Son Jesus Christ are there and they want what is best for us helps me to get through it.
