Hi I'm Kyler

I was born and raised in Arizona. I'm a fan of sci-fi, fantasy, and the Scriptures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn new things. I am very intrigued with how things work. I am also interested with history, specifically during the Medieval and Renaissance times. I play Viola in my high school orchestra. I sing in the East Valley Millennial Choir and Orchestra. I enjoy playing and listening to classical music such as Beethoven and Mozart. I am an advocate of classical literature, including Shakespeare and Jane Austin. I enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends on the weekends. I watch Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, and Star Wars; the Original Trilogy, of course. I am an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts Of America. I love to go camping and hiking, as well as many other outdoor activities. I am currently preparing to serve a mission and can hardly wait to share the gospel with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church. I was baptized at the age of 8 as was expected. It wasn't until much later that I became truly converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. Through trials and troubles in my teenage years, I had to know for myself if this church was true. I did what I could to find out for myself. I read the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and I prayed about it, and was able to receive confirmation through the Spirit that this is the one true church of the earth. I now strive to live as Christ lived by loving and teaching those around me.

How I live my faith

I have joined the East Valley Millennial Choir and Orchestra and sing praises to God in the choir. It is an amazing experience to create such beautiful music for others. I also teach in Sunday School a small group of 13 year old students. I do my best to help them understand the Doctrine of Christ and why it is important to them in their lives. I love teaching my students. I regularly perform service projects for those in my church, and receive great joy doing so. I am also asked, along with my father, to visit two families in my church each month. I check in with them to see how they are doing, then share a short message from the leaders of the Church, and ask if there is anything they need help with and offer any help I might be able to provide. I go to the temple as often as I can and love doing temple work for my ancestors. I have done work for hundreds of deceased family members in several temples in Arizona and Utah. I have made it a goal to achieve "Centurion" in seminary, which is a test to memorize 100 scriptures from The Bible, The Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants, and have received the award for the passed 3 years. With these scriptures set to memory, I am able to recall the words of God when I need them, whether it's for teaching others or helping myself understand God's will for us. I strive to set an example to others by living the standards of Christ, and nothing brings more peace or joy to my life than following our Savior.
