Hi I'm Lisa

I am from Washington and now live in Illinois. I am happy and love my life. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am married to the man of my dreams! I am a mother of two children and love being at home helping them to be happy and healthy little people. My family is everything to me - both the one I grew up in and the one I am a part of now! I love exercising, singing, playing piano, playing volleyball, drawing, hiking, baking, organizing, watching nature shows, sunny days, thunder storms, physics, fruit smoothies, vegetables, bright colors, laughing and chocolate chip cookies!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon, but that is not why I am a Mormon. I prayed to know for myself and the Spirit of God bore witness in my heart that I truly am his daughter, he loves me and has a plan for me. I believe that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can live with our Heavenly Father again - and I want to. I believe that by obeying the teachings of Jesus Christ (as revealed through modern day prophets) that I can. I believe that families can be together forever by means of the Priesthood and modern day temples. I believe that there are living prophets and apostles on the earth today guiding us to know how to live happily and faithfully. I believe that Heavenly Father wants me to be happy. And because I know all of these things, I am happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. I read scripture most every day and pray multiple times each day. I believe that we are all children of God so I strive to help and bring joy to everyone I interact with. I am a visiting teacher, the Young Women President, which means I am the leader of the young women ages 12-18 in our ward (congregation), and best of all, a wife and mother.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Lisa
Joseph Smith was the first prophet in the "latter-days". He translated the Book of Mormon, an ancient record of the Nephite and Lamanite people who lived in the Americas. Many people call us "Mormon" because we believe in the Book of Mormon. I have read and studied the Book of Mormon multiple times and believe it is the word of God. The Spirit of God has confirmed its truthfulness in my heart. Show more Show less
