Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Ashlyn Trussel

I love music, missions, the 90s, and being a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the suburbs of Seattle and attended a french immersion school growing up. I'm the second oldest of a 5 kids.I love reading, sports, my family, and card games. I love traveling and I put every penny I save towards plane tickets. I just finished my first year at BYU, but I have no idea what I want to major in or do with my life. I was called to serve a mission in Rio De Janeiro Brazil. I was thrown a curve ball when my visa papers took longer than expected and I spent over half of my mission reassigned in the Ohio Cleveland mission. But the Lord's plans are better than mine and I'm so grateful for the time that I got to spend there. After 10 months in Ohio I got my visa and am now serving the people in Brazil and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

The simple answer to why I am a Mormon is because this church brings more joy than anything else in the world. My faith is the one thing in this world that I am totally sure of. Everything this church preaches is of love and charity and I have seen how it has blessed my life. When I live according to this gospel I am happy and I have direction in my life, it's as simple as that. Hard times still come and sometimes we are tested to our maximum capacity. But with Christ there is always hope, always a brighter future to look forward to.

How I live my faith

I think that I've found to live my faith is by trying to live my life as Christ-like as possible. I try to serve others whenever I can and love them as Christ loves everyone. Faith without works is dead, so i think that it is important to not just attend church once a week, but live the values that I believe in every day. I have also chosen to serve a mission for our church. I will be serving in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil from July 2013-January 2015.

Are Mormons Christians?

Ashlyn Trussel
Yes, we believe in Jesus Christ. He is the center of our faith and The Book Of Mormon is meant to serve as another testament of Him, as further proof of the bible. Even our name reflects our belief in him as we are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Show more Show less
