Hi I'm Sid

I am Single ( divorced ) retired, Worked 29 years for the Toronto Transit Commision I am a former Army Officer.

About Me

I have a disability Agoraphobia with Panic Disorder so I can rarely go out and almost never get to church. I gave up driving in case I ever had an attack and froze behind the wheel. Being single is extremely upsetting to me from a religious point of view I'm almost 50 km from church so cabs are out of the question and my illness limits me to traveling with people I really trust. I'm well read, can handle a few (6) languages but my education was mainly engineering related and I was an infantry platoon commander while in the service. I was also a Cadet Instructor where I taught mountain and glacier climbing.

Why I am a Mormon

I find the church more consistant than others and honest. For example i don't believe in priestcraft or making a living off peoples beliefs. I can discuss many of the worlds religions.

How I live my faith

Though I was baptized in 1966 I am a person who feels one must be 100% before going on so I have only taken the Aaronic priesthood I am not and Elder though I have taken the course 4 times and having and almost perfect memory tend to embarass some in class when I do go. I am a person who never feels worthy enough though while working I probably saved some where around 40 lives. Military first aid and being a subway emergency mechanic I would be first on the scene of suicide attempts. Fire, Police EMT's would not know what was alive and dangerous with power off. Culmulative exposure to such things are likely what led to my illness which is a form of PTSD.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Sid
