Hi I'm Lindi!

I love school, sparkles, and socializing! I think alliteration is awesome...and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in the Land of Lincoln as the fifth of six kids. I love to read, cook, and play games with friends. I also like to play basketball, soccer, and run. Someday I would like to be a famous author, but in the meantime I am studying to be an elementary school teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

Members of my family have belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since its early beginnings in the 1800s. I have ancestors that knew Joseph Smith and others that traveled thousands of miles from Denmark and England to join the Saints in Utah. My parents have been faithful followers of the religion their entire lives, so when I was born being a Mormon came naturally. Every Sunday my parents loaded us six kids up and we went to church. As I little girl I had no other choice. When I was old enough to choose, I did not want any other choice. I am a Mormon because I know that God is real. He is my Heavenly Father: He knows me, He loves me, He answers my prayers. I know that Jesus Christ walked on this earth, died and lives again. He is my Savior, Redeemer and loving older brother. I have felt the Holy Ghost comfort and teach me. I have read the Book Mormon and prayed to know if it is true. The answer is yes. Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God and translated this ancient scripture. I know that there is a prophet on the earth today. I know that my purpose on earth is to learn, and grow to be perfect like Christ. There is life after death and families are bonded for eternity. These are the doctrines my church teaches, and they bring me joy and confidence every day of my life. Why am I a Mormon? Not because my parents make me, and not because I follow their beliefs blindly. I am a Mormon because I have had a personal witness from God that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. It is a lifestyle that fills me with peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday...for three hours, and I love it! I pray and read the scriptures daily. I smile to share the happiness my faith brings me with others. For the past two years I have been in charge of planning monthly activities for women 18 and older in my local congregation. I also strive to follow my Savior's example by making people my top priority. Whether it is acts of service, writing encouraging notes, or lending a listening ear, I try to be a support to those around me.
