Hi I'm Devin

I grew up Utah. I have an obsession with cars. I'm always being active. I love sports. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Utah my whole life. My parents are from California and Nevada, and met on their missions to Spain. I am the youngest of 3 children and the only boy. I have two older sisters that both act like they are my mother, but they both spoil me so I can't complain. The oldest of my sisters is married to a boy she met her senior year of high school. She attended and graduated from college with a degree in accounting and was married in June of 2009. They currently live 20 minutes away from the rest of us. My other sister is currently serving a mission in California. She attended college and studied exercise science. When she returns from her mission she will have a semester left to complete before she graduates. I attended the same college as my sister who is just older than I for a single semester before submitting a leave of absence so that I can serve a full-time mission of my own in Brazil. I am still uncertain what I want to study when I return but I figure that I will cross that bridge when I come to it. When I am not doing school work or with my friends or family I like to either work on cars or play sports. In fact, I love to do just about anything active. My typical Saturday is either spent underneath my car or running around some field/court. My family and I also have a love for dogs. I have a German Shepherd and my sister has an Olde English Bulldogge and a Rottweiler. With three dogs in the house and an active family, there is always something going on!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. However, just because I was born into it does not mean that I immediately believed it. As I was taught in my youth it always sort of made sense. There was never really a point that I doubted that the church was true but I didn't bother to find out for myself if it really was. It is a common belief that they "brainwash" us as kids to believe certain things or act in certain ways, but that just simply isn't true. Even though I was young when I began learning about this gospel I still had the ability to choose for myself whether or not I thought it was true. So there came a point where I got on my knees and prayed to my Heavenly Father sincerely and simply asked. I asked whether or not the things that I had been taught for the past 16 years were true or not. As I knelt there I felt an extremely warm and calming feeling engulf me and I knew that it was true. Any possible doubts that I had disappeared and I knew the truth.

How I live my faith

I attend church every week. I love being able to go to a place where I know there are people who love me and want the best for me. For this very reason I am extremely active in my ward. I have held over 4 leadership roles among the youth my age and was also a leader of Sunday School in my ward at college. I always accept any opportunity to serve in my church because it not only helps the people I'm serving but it also helps me.
