Hi I'm Sam Ching

I was born and raised in Hawaii. I play football, basketball, and baseball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a small community on the island of Oahu. Even though it is small, it is definitely a thriving Mormon community. I like sports and have played football, basketball and baseball during high school. I love doing outdoor activities such as hiking, paintball, and airsoft. I love animals and have two dogs. I recieved my Eagle Scout award during high school. I graduated high school last year and have taken two semesters at a local college. I have been called to serve in the California, Los Angeles mission and will be serving there for 2 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised up in a Mormon community so I grew up as a member of the church. Throughout most of my life, I pretty much just went along with what was happening and was supported by my parents testimony. It wasn't really until I was in high school when I started to receive a testimony of my own. I started to wonder why we believed what we do and if Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I started to search the scriptures more and a lot of prayer. After praying to my Heavenly Father many times and receiving comfort from Him, I received some answers. This is when I started to seriously think about serving a mission. As I started to think more and more about my mission, General Conference came up and the prophet announced the change of age limit to serve a mission. I felt that this was a type of sign given from the Lord for me to get ready for my mission. I know that this church is true and have experienced it for myself.

How I live my faith

I've been called to the office of a president for many quorums during my youth. I have also been the 1st councilor in another calling and I'm so grateful to have been in those positions. I would go home teaching with my dad regularly to families in my ward to help build their faith as well as my own. I try to live the gospel as best as I can and now am spreading the truth to the people of Los Angeles.
