Hi I'm Mikan

I grew up in Florida. I was a student at LDS Business College and I will take a year and a half off to serve a mission in Brazil.

About Me

I am a college student in Utah, but I was born and raised in Florida. I love the warmth and the ocean. I have been a beach lifeguard for the past two summers and would love own a house on the beach one day. I have three older bothers and grew up a tom-boy. Although, I am very much a girly-girl now. I love my brothers and the rest of my family. I have two nephews and a niece who I wish I could spend all my time with. I love spending time out doors. I love hiking, biking, camping, climbing, repelling, rafting, etc. I enjoy sports and am up to try almost anything. I love being around people and making news friends. Dancing and singing are a must do, and I love to see people happy. I enjoy spending time with happy people who know how to laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the doctrines and teachings this church teaches is the only way to truly be happy and live with God again as we once did before. The gospel this church teaches makes me happy. Everyone has trials and temptations in their life, but The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches how to be strengthened and how we can use the doctrine of Salvation. This church teaches that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died so that we might live. This church teaches that God lives, that He loves us, and though Christ, we can be saved. I am a mormon because this church is true and I know it through much prayer and by the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

My faith is a daily act for me. I strive always to be better, know who Christ is, and have a relationship with Him. I know I cannot have a relationship with Him without making sacrifices and accomplishing hard things. I know by small and simple things can great things happen. By daily studying the Book of Mormon I come to know my Savior better and who He wants me to become. I feel peace when I read the Book of Mormon and recognize that is the spirit of God. I have a desire to serve Him in every way. Now, as I prepare to serve a mission in Bahia Brazil, I want to do better in helping everyone come unto Christ. I strive to share the gospel with everyone around me by my example, bold declarations of what I know, and by how I serve God's children around me.
