Hi I'm Erin Jackson

I am a student, a worker, and an athlete... but most importantly I am a Mormon :)!

About Me

I am the third child out of six. I love anything outdoors. I am always up for new challenges and adventures. I LOVE my family, they are everything to me. :). I have 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and awesome parents! I served as a missionary in the Czech/Slovak Mission from 2013 to 2014. I am now serving in the West Virginia Charleston Mission from 2014 to 2015. I love this Gospel, it has changed my life! Because I have been given much, I too must give. :). What better way then spreading the good news of Christ's Gospel? My life hasn't been the easiest; I have had more than a good share of trials and challenges. Sometimes, things happen and it feels like your world is crashing down around you. But as my mom says, "If life were easy, then it wouldn't be hard." This silly saying helps me remember that life was never meant to be easy, but it is worth living.

Why I am a Mormon

From the time I was born I had been told that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the one true Church. I didn't questioned it. Then during my last two years of High School a lot of challenges came up, that tested my beliefs. I decided that if I was going to stand up and defend my beliefs, I had better get a knowledge for myself that it was true, I could no longer believe something just because my parents had taught me. I did a lot of studying from the scriptures, a lot of praying, and a lot of pondering. And, in time, I got my answer. It was nothing big or miraculous, but it touched my heart. I felt peace. I know God lives, and that He loves me. I also know that He knows me and He hears and answers my prayers. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior. I had received my answer, however, my situation in High School still didn't change, but my heart did. I know there is a reason for everything, though I do not understand why everything happens, I do know this... God loves His children and He will never leave us alone. During the best time of our lives and during the worst, He is always there.

How I live my faith

I start and end every day with prayer, I find time to read from the scriptures every day, I go to Church every Sunday, and when I am not in Church I continue living the principles of the gospel, that I learned, in my everyday life. I try to pattern my life after the life of Our Savoir Jesus Christ. I am no where near perfect, and I will continue to make mistakes, but it doesn't mean that I shouldn't try to do what is right. I believe in living what you say you believe. I am a Christian, so I try to be a good person at all time, in all things, and in all places. I go out of my way to look for opportunities to serve, no matter how small it may seem. I respect people no matter who they are or what they believe; we all have a reason for why we are the way we are. We all have a past, but most importantly we all have a future.
