Hi I'm Fabrizio

I grew-up living in England, United States & Italy. I am a Professional Pilot & Aviation Consultant and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I got my pilot's licence before my drivers's licence. I flew some of the richest and most famous people around on their Private Jets, to then work for 5 different airlines and fly the Boeing B737NG. Today I have my own Aviation Consultancy, where we sell and lease aircraft and I keep my hand in doing some aircraft delivery flights. I have also had two books I wrote published. I am happily married with four lovely children. My wife and I Homeschool the kids and we do a lot of things together from golfing, horse riding, martial arts, and our favourite is traveling around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

At the age of 12 I went to my local priest with some questions and after an hour I realised he didn't have the answers. My two best friends were Buddhist and Jewish and I had been taught that good people went to heaven but that you also needed to be baptised. The priest told me that my two friends would go to hell if they died having not been baptised. I felt this didn't sound right and decided not to attend this Church anymore. However, I remained friends with the priest. I then went on a 14 year spiritual quest. I talked to people from many different religious denominations and also attended conferences, where I met people that claimed to have met visitors from other planets. The space alien thing resonated with me, as I was a pilot and loved flying. The interesting thing was that people tried to convince me they were right and everyone else was wrong. In 1995 I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I read the Book of Mormon with great interest and really liked the idea about Jesus preaching to the American Indians. The Joseph Smith story didn't sound strange to me, as I had heard so many space alien stories. What really impressed me was the fact that the two Mormon Missionaries I met with told me not to believe them, but to kneel down and pray and ask Heavenly Father if these things were true. This was such a SIMPLE thing to do and guess what? Anyone could do it! So I did too and was baptised 2 weeks later and never looked back!

How I live my faith

I have served in many different callings for the Church in different places around the world. I enjoy sitting down with people and help them use the Gospel to discover and develop their talents. I am currently on my Stake High Council, which is a bit like a company Board of Directors. Our focus is to help families create safe havens in their homes, where faith in Jesus Christ is the key to success. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a way of life. Many think we are restricted because we don't do things like smoke, drink, have sex outside marriage but in reality these are a few rules and regulations (called commandments), which if followed actually give you MORE freedom. In today's world, where we are bombarded with tons of information we need to have a system that helps as discern from what is right and wrong. When faced with challenges in life I have always turned to God in prayer and immersed myself in the scriptures for guidance. As a couple my wife and I have always knelt in prayer and counselled with Heavenly Father and this has been great for our relationship, especially in difficult times. A family that prays together, stays together.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

I have always found it fascinating and enlightening at the same time that the so called "Mormon Health Code" is called Word of Wisdom. Wisdom in anything comes as a result of study and application. It is important for us to study health and work on it on a daily basis. Some think it restricts our freedom because we don't smoke, drink alcohol or tea & coffee. I see this as a minimum standard. In reality refraining from those substances gives us more freedom. As I have made health a life long pursuit, I have discovered there is more to the Word of Wisdom. What you eat, exercise, going to bed early and lots more. The beauty of all this is you have the freedom to take it to what ever level you wish... Show more Show less

What is a ward/stake/branch?

A Ward is made up of individuals and families that live in a certain geographical area. The Ward is really the core of our Church. It is lead by a Bishop and almost everyone has a responsibility from teaching children in Primary, to Missionary work, teaching Sunday School and many other roles. Everyone gets an opportunity to serve, as we have no paid-clergy. Service in the Church is a great opportunity to serve others and grow as you reach-out to others. A Branch is a smaller version of a Ward. A Stake is made-up of 5-12 Wards and covers a certain geographical area. The Stake is led by a Stake President, who has two counsellors and a High Council made up of 12 men, just like the 12 Apostles. Again all these people serve on a voluntary basis. Through service, using the gospel of Jesus Christ as a leadership development framework, the members of the Church grow as they reach-out to serve others. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

There are certain Christian denominations that declare that Mormons are not Christian. A Christian is someone that believes in Jesus Christ. Mormon was a Prophet and the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I invite ALL Christians and non to get a copy of this great book and read it and then ask themselves if this doesn't teach about Jesus Christ in a very positive way. As you do this pray and ask Heavenly Father if this book is true and you will know... Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Part of living the Gospel is serving others. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we are all asked to contribute our time and our talents for the advancement of the Kingdom of God on Earth. It is a fun and very rewarding part of being a member of the Church, as you learn so much about yourself & others. Structured in this way the Church does not need paid clergy. Having a family and a business and/or a job allows you to be more in tune with the reality of the world. All this makes you better qualified to reach out and really help other people with their lives. In the Church as members we receive callings that can range from teaching in Sunday School, to being the Bishop, the Young Women's President and many more. The person is called in for an interview and asked if they are happy to serve in that particular role. If they accept, this call is put to the congregation for approval and then the person is set apart by a member of the Priesthood. Being set apart is a special blessing that is pronounced on them, where often guidance is given. They will serve in this capacity for a while, until the Lord deems it time to release them and call them to do something else. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

First of all Mormons are encouraged to marry in the Temple. From there a couple start their family life. We are to put our spouses first, before our children and parents. One of our leaders once said: "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother." Family comes first and one should schedule their time to spend it with their family. The Church issued "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" which gives some sound advice to success in the home. If spouses were faithful to each other and more time were spent with children, the world would be a better place. One of the purposes of The Gospel of Jesus Christ is to make the world a better place. Our modern day Prophet & Apostles are giving a lot of counsel on the subject of family and this is greatly needed in today's world. We have a General Conference twice a year (in April & October) where our Prophet, the Apostles & other Church Leaders address the world. If you tune into these talks you will soon realise that if what they say were applied the world would become a better place. As a society we need a Prophet today, to guide us and lead us. I encourage you to look these conference up and experiment by trying out some of the ideas and counsel offered. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Heavenly father has given each one of us a body in which our soul dwells while living through this mortal experience. Our body is a gift from God. Just like when a loved one gives you a gift, you treasure it, we should do the same with our bodies. Imagine you were given a Ferrari, you would look after it. You would make sure it was always clean, serviced well, so that it would perform at its best. We need to keep our bodies clean, feed it nourishing food and exercise regular. This always us to feel good and consequently perform at our best. Tattooing our bodies, dyeing our hair green, putting earrings in our noses are all things that do not show respect and care towards our bodies and if you look into it are also very unhealthy practices. So, let's just keep it simple! Show more Show less
