Hi I'm Shellie

I'm a nurse and single mother of 4 amazing children and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm 39 a single mum of 4 who's ages range from 5 to 17. I've been nursing since I left school and love it. Whenever I get a quiet moment you'll find me with my nose in a book, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for over 20 years. My mother and her family were converts, 2 missionaries knocked on there door one sunny afternoon, taught them about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and invited them to be baptized. I was baptized on my 16th Birthday,as my father would not give his permission for me to be baptized until then (he's not a member). From the age of 8 I had a testimony, I knew that I had a loving Heavenly Father, and that his son Jesus Christ suffered and died for me. Having to wait only made my testimony stronger. As I continue to pray and study the scriptures I am blessed on a daily basis. Life can sometimes be hard and we often experience great difficulties, but I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and is always there to lift and strengthen me through these times.

How I live my faith

I serve within the Relief Society, and help to plan activities that women can enjoy and learn from such as craft making, sewing, cooking or food storage. I also have the privileged of visiting with these women in their homes on a monthly basis through visiting teaching. It allows me to serve them and be aware of their needs. My children enjoy many activities through the church and attend a scripture class on a daily basis before school, they don't always appreciate getting up early every morning but love to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
