Hi I'm Jeanette

I was born and raised in California. A great day would be one spent outdoors enjoying nature. I know that Christ lives.

About Me

Running is one of my passions. In high school I ran cross country and the 800 meter race in track. I feel free when I run. All the stress and worries of the day seem to fade away whenever I put on my running shoes and head out the door. My love for running and for exercising has played a role in my decision to study exercise physiology in college. I hope to one day become a physical therapist, personal trainer, or work in some area where I would be working with athletes. I love being outdoors, and I especially love to go camping. Every time of the day is great when you're camping. From waking up and smelling the crisp morning air, to spending the day outside in the sun, to gazing up at the millions of stars at night while sitting around a warm campfire eating som'mores! I am a firm believer that no road in life is smooth, but if we stop and stand still for a moment we will see beauty all around us that can help us get over those bumps with a smile on our face.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, because I know it is Christ's true church on the Earth today. I know the Book of Mormon is true. The Book of Mormon truly testifies of Jesus Christ and can bring us closer to Him. Whenever I read the Book of Mormon I am filled with peace and happiness, and I truly feel closer to my Savior. The guidance the Book of Mormon gives me helps me immensely in my life in knowing what I should do in this life to become more like my Savior and what I need to do to return to Him and my Heavenly Father again. I know that one of the ways Heavenly Father reveals truth and guidance is through His prophets, and I know with my whole heart that Joseph Smith is a true Prophet of God. That through him, Christ was able to restore His true church to the Earth once again. I know that Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet on the Earth today. Anyone can know this to be true through prayer and reading the Book of Mormon. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings so much peace and happiness to my life. I know I am a child of a loving Heavenly Father, I know I lived with Him before this life, I know why I am here on Earth and where I am going after this life. The truths and blessings the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings to me allows me to have an eternal perspective that helps me get through any difficult day of life. My Savior is always there lifting me up and mending my broken heart. I know my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, lives today. I know He knows me personally, because when I come to Him, He comforts and heals my heart in a way only someone who truly knows me could. I love Christ. He has made it possible for me to return to my Heavenly Father through His grace and mercy. I know it is only through Christ that I can be forgiven and cleansed from sin. I love to attend church because I am able to feel my Savior's love, learn more about my Savior and grow to love Him even more.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to follow Jesus Christ's example every day. In any situation that arises I try to act as He would have acted. I love to serve others as Christ served others. Volunteering and helping others in any way possible is one of my favorite things to do. I once volunteered at a Special Olympics event near my hometown. Being around those with special needs, such as down-syndrome, for a day was a great blessing. They taught me so much about love, kindness, and in being happy. Even though I was there to serve them, I felt as though they were serving me by sharing their sweet spirits with me and for teaching me about true genuine love. Very much like the love Christ has for each of us. I once taught a Sunday School class for Church. It was so much fun! I learn so much from teaching, not only from preparing the lesson, but from the insights of those who I taught on the topic. We can all learn so much from one another.
