Hi I'm Derek McDonald

I'm the oldest of five children. I love being around people and being outdoors. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I lived in Alaska for four years and a lot of what I love to do comes from that experience. I love doing anything outdoors; especially rock climbing, white water rafting and hiking. I also enjoy learning to do new things and just improving in any area of my life. I love to make things, I recently attempted making a iron man suit, I've also designed and crafted lots of jewelry (it's cool and manly! Plus it was a hobby of my grandpa), I have also been looking into building a car or converting a car to run electricity. I plan on going to college and get my degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have been apart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints their whole lives. I have been also been surrounded by the church my whole life. I was brought up listening to Book of Mormon stories and gospel principles, this has been a great blessing for me. I know this church is true. It's the one thing in my life I can confidently understand and talk about. I believe the promise Christ has made with us that if we give Him our all he will help us with the rest. Jesus Christ is my Savior and I will follow Him.

How I live my faith

I try really hard to set an example for my younger siblings since I am the person they see doing lots of new stuff and I want to show them that it is "cool" to be a righteous priesthood holder. Being active and going to church every Sunday is very important to me as that's where I find a lot of my friends. I fill my time also enjoying music, movies and books that will inspire, motivate, and uplift me to be better than I am. To go above and beyond what is expected of me.
