Hi I'm Lee

I'm from New England, I'm a downhill ski racer, I love music, and I served in the England Leeds Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Massachusetts. My Dad always loved the Beatles, so from a young age a dreamed of playing the drums like Ringo Starr. For my 7th birthday I was given a pair of drumsticks and I started taking drum lessons, Since learning how to play the drums I've taught myself how to play a few other instruments. Some of those include the guitar, harmonica, ukulele, and the piano. Music means a lot to me and has a big influence on how I feel and where my inspiration comes from. Sports have always played a big part of what I do as well. When I was 6 years old I began skiing, and around age 9 I began to compete in downhill ski racing. I've always had dreams of being in the Olympics or on the US Ski Team, but my faith in the gospel have lead me down what I believe to be, greater paths. In early April of 2010 I received my mission call to serve in the England Leeds Mission. From the Geordies in Gateshead, and Newcastle to the People of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire in Leeds, Sheffield, and Scunthorpe. My life has been and will forever be changed from that two years that I willingly gave to the people of Northeast England. From New England to Old England and back again, the time flew, and now I'm a transfer student from BYU-Idaho at BYU Provo pursuing my dreams of being a surgeon.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was baptized and confirmed and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I remain a Mormon because I know that no one has been sent to this earth to fail. Every one of us has a divine potential to be great, and to inspire others. The Gospel and the church is the way provided for us to be our best selves. God is merciful and allows us to slip up and make mistakes, and nobody can ever slip and fall so low that the atonement can't pick them up again and allow them another try. People are miraculous and great, and I can be great, all because of our savior.

How I live my faith

I believe that living your faith is a lot more than attending church and fulfilling responsibilities. You've got to make it a part of who you are. I like to make people laugh. Especially in today's world, with everything that is around us having to be such a tragedy, it's nice to be happy and focus on the positive. I live my faith by bearing testimony whenever I can, and by striving to serve and uplift those around me.

What is faith?

Lee
Faith is a "hope for things which are not seen, which are true". Everyday we make faith based decisions. Faith is an action word, it involves us doing something. Faith is very real and it is upon this principle that we can know that God is there. The scriptures compare faith to a seed. If you plant it it will grow, but only if YOU nourish it, only if YOU act upon it and do what is necessary to make it grow. It is an experiment for many who do not have a belief. Try it, exercise your faith in God and try. Start reading the Book of Mormon, pray and ask if what you read is true and DO what the scriptures say, and you will see the fruit of your faith.
