Hi I'm Freda Baird

Hello I am Freda I work as an Accountant, I have two grown up children and five grandchildren and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an identical twin. We were born in a school room ( which was being used as a hospital ) in Scotland during World War II.I was educated in both Scotland and England. I began my career as a Teacher in London. I am a mother of a son and daughter. I go to the gym everyday at 6.30 in the morning before work. I enjoy family history work and have researched as far back as the 1400s.

Why I am a Mormon

At the age of 26 the Missionaries visited me and explained to me about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was looking for a way to bring up my children who were then 6 and 3 and it was important to me that they would grow up happy, sociable, hard working and confident enough to be Leaders as well as followers. The Church has made them that and more. As I now watch my grandchildren go through their teenage years being loyal and good friends to their friends and willing to serve missions for the Church and follow worth while careers, I am so glad that I made the commitment I did 41 years ago. The Church is true and we are led by a Prophet of God. I have living proof that if we live by the principles we are taught that we can have a good life here and eternal happiness with our families in the future.

How I live my faith

I have spent most of my Church life serving as either a Teacher or Leader with the youth or the children. I taught the youth ( aged 14-18 year olds ) Seminary for fourteen years which involves studying and teaching the scriptures. To begin with it was once a week which then changed to a daily lesson I had to prepare and teach the young people before school. This has helped me to grow closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and know of their existance without any doubt. I am grateful for this knowledge, it helps me make good choices everyday of my life and be tolerant of my fellow men.
