Hi I'm Joyce

I grew up in England. I am a convert and emigrated to the United States in 1964.

About Me

I was born and raised in England. I was raised an only child, my sister died when she was a baby. I had a very happy childhood and lots of friends. My Father died when I was 12 yrs old. My Mom and I first learned about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when 2 missionaries came to our door looking for somewhere to board. I always wished I had an elder brother and I ended up with 12 of them. My Mom and I were converted in 1963. In 1964 we emigrated to the U.S.A. In 1965 I was sealed in the Temple to my sweetheart. We have now been married 48 years. We had 6 children. Our youngest daughter died of cancer in 2010. She was 27 yrs old and left her husband and two small children. this was a very difficult time for us. We have 18 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. My greatest joy is spending time with my family. I love to work in my yard, I also love to read and knit.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when I was having the lessons from the Missionaries, I was still dragging my feet on getting baptized. I was asked If I would in private kneel and pray to my Heavenly Father and ask him if this church was true. I received such a strong answer and a feeling that I had never had in my life before. My answer that the church was true was so strong that I can never in my life deny that the church is true. This testimony of the truthfulness of the church has helped me through many of my trials. I am so thankful for the church in my life. It has helped me raise our children to be respectful and have good morals. We have such good programs for our children and youth. It brings joy in my life to be a member of this church. I am grateful to our Heavenly Father for bringing the missionaries into our life. It has brought many blessings in my life.

How I live my faith

I have always enjoyed working in our Church. I have been involved in just about every organization in our Church. To me being a member of our Church is not just about going to church on Sunday but living everyday with my faith and love for our Savior. I love visiting teaching and visiting with those in our Church. My husband and I love to visit the elderly. They really need these visits and it makes us feel good also.
