Hi I'm Heather

I was born and raised in the church, and have been guided on a journey to find who I really want to be.

About Me

I've been called to serve, and recently entered the mission field! I plan to major somewhere among the Social Sciences when I get home. I'm known for my silly faces, craziness, and my love for chocolate milk & green beans! I always enjoy a good time with friends and family, but right now I am blessed with the opportunity to meet new people, share the love of Christ with others. I love people and I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

While growing up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I had always felt like the church was something essential in my life. I was given countless answers to prayers, and understanding where I'd been lacking. But it wasn't until my freshman year of high school that I really tried to seek to know Christ. This was a year with many trials and trying times, and I went through periods of feeling depressed and alone with no where to turn. Randomly, I had a peer come simply asking how I was doing; I'd been feeling worse than before and was to afraid to speak up to friends and family, but this person had the feeling that they needed to talk to me, unknowing of why or what I'd been through. But this simple act of service influenced me to look upon those things I'd been taught as a child; the power of prayer. Praying for the strength to make it through that trial and trials to come, look at them as opportunities to grow my testimony and rely on principles of Christ. I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me personally, and He knew this was the way to help me realize that, He is there for me whenever I need it. The Lord will never leave us alone, all we need to do is ask in faith.

How I live my faith

Whenever I keep in mind that I am a daughter of God, it makes living righteously easier; whether it's helping a friend out, being an example, teaching my peers (formally or in person), or just being myself. I've noticed in my life that it is essential to choose to keep the commandments on a daily basis, and when I've done this I have been blessed. A happy life is doing what I am commanded and serving others. The Lord needs us to do His work, and be there for others in their times of need.
