Hi I'm Megan

I'm from California, i'm 19 years old, and I am called to serve the people of Orlando Florida for the next 18 months.

About Me

I am 19 years old and I have been called to serve a mission for 18 months in the Florida Orlando mission. I was born and raised a member of the church, but have come to know of its truthfulness on my own. I love playing sports, especially soccer and tennis. I also love music; singing, playing the piano, and simply listening. Reading and writing are some of my favorite things to do as well. I love reading almost anything and i enjoy writing poetry, short stories, articles, and i am currently working on a novel.

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel is not only a religion, but a lifestyle. It defines who i am and shows me who i want to be. Through the teachings of this church i have developed a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have come to know them and feel their love for me on a daily basis. This is a constant support for me through the hard times and the happy times. When i am living the gospel and striving to be like my Savior, the happy times overpower the hard times and i have been able to find true joy.

How I live my faith

At this point in my life, the biggest leap of faith i have taken is deciding to serve a full time mission. In the beginning of june i will be leaving to serve the Lord and the people of Orlando Florida for 18 months. This decision has been both easy and hard. I know it will be hard, but the blessings i receive from my mission will far outweigh any of the sacrifices i make.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

It is important that we are self-reliant in this life. Keeping finances in order and being able support ourselves and our families allows us to serve and help others, especially those who are not yet self-reliant. If we can become self-reliant and are prepared for emergencies, we can live our lives with less stress and worry, making happiness easier to obtain. Show more Show less
