Hi I'm Mackenzie McLeod

I'm a missionary in England. I love to paint and surf. I call California, Hawaii, and Jerusalem home. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area in the town of Pleasanton, California. I am currently serving a full time mission in the England London South Mission for a period of 18 months. Before this mission, I was a student at BYU Hawaii studying art, psychology, and peacebuilding. The gospel and my family bring me happiness. I'm the youngest of seven kids and have 14 adorable nieces and nephews. Traveling has opened my eyes to the beauty this world has to offer. I believe we are all connected and peace is possible as we recognize the humanity in each person we meet. It is important to believe there is good in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Being the youngest of 7 kids, I observed a lot. I observed sports games, marriages, nieces and nephews growing up, hysterical moments, funny moments, and trying moments, but most importantly I’ve observed that each one of my family members has developed their own testimonies of this gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Now it is great to observe, but there comes a time in your life where you need to act and figure things out for yourself. I have developed my own testimony as I have exercised faith and a sincere desire to read the Book of Momon and feel its truth from the Holy Ghost. I've learned the Lord gives us knowledge a little bit at a time when we are ready to receive it. The truth is all there, but we must constantly be willing to learn from others and the Lord. We have the nick name of a Mormon, but we are followers of Jesus Christ. As I have developed faith in my Savior, I am able to love the Lord, my family, and people more. This gospel is full of love and happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to see people as the Lord sees them. We are all His children and He has a plan for each one of us. We are all in this together and I receive strength and uplift as I attend church every Sunday and actively strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ throughout the week. I'm serving a mission because my heart has been changed through the pure love I’ve felt as I use the atonement of Jesus Christ in my life. It brings me joy and happiness, and it makes me want to share this message with others that feel lost and unloved by our Heavenly Father. Leaving family and school to serve the Lord in a foreign place requires faith in this gospel. I wouldn't be out here if I didn't have faith that people can feel the love of the Lord and find His truth in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
