Hi I'm Chean Hepworth

I grew up in Colorado Springs. I play guitar. I am currently serving a mission in Moscow, Russia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've loved music since i was 12 years old. I've played the saxophone, trumpet, piano, and the guitar. In high school, I ran cross country for four years, and swam for four years. I am serving a mission for the LDS church in Moscow, Russia for 2 years. Before the mission, I worked on a farm and remodeled apartments.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in this church, and I always believed that it was true. However, like anyone else, I had to find out if what i believed was true. In high school, I had a really close friend who was a member. We did everything together, in and out of church. He started to fall away from the church. He started doing things that were against the rules of the church such as doing drugs. As he grew away from the church, he started going downhill in school, he got kicked out of the school program we were in, and everything else started going away for him. I saw this change in him and realized, the rules and standards we have in our church are to protect us and help us and that our Heavenly Father gave them to us for that reason because He loves us. I know that this church is true, I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ's church and that we have a living prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God along with the Bible and that Joseph Smith translated it through the power of God. I know our Heavenly Father lives and His son Jesus Christ does too and they love us very much. I say these in the name of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In our church, I taught a youth group that were ages 12 and 13. I enjoyed it a lot and learned a lot about younger teenagers and how to teach them. I also work with the missionaries who serve here in Colorado Springs. That has helped me prepare for the mission I will serve in Russia. From age 12 to 18 , I was in Young Mens and in Boy Scouts, in which both of these our groups did a lot of service projects in the community and in the church.
