Hi I'm Dennis

I'm retired. I referee soccer and raise raspberries. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, dad, and grandpa. I'm retired, but keep busy refereeing soccer and gardening. I raise raspberries and sell them to a small company that makes gourmet jam. I like to watch sports on TV, especially baseball, football, soccer and basketball. I served in the US Air Force, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam war.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints about 150 years ago. But not everyone in the family has been faithful and active. Sadly, I was one of them. But I came to realize that true happiness was only to be found by living the Gospel fully, to the best of my ability. Following this realization, I have been blessed with a wife and children. We have been sealed together as a family for all eternity. I know that we must stay on the Gospel path to fully enjoy all the blessings we have been promised by our loving Heavenly Father, through His grace and the Atonement of His Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to help wherever I'm needed. Right now, I assist the leader of one of the men's groups at church. Sometimes, I help people move or visit the sick or give someone a ride to church. Sometimes I help clean up after activities or fill grocery orders at the Bishop's storehouse. Twice a month, I drive three hours to Columbus and spend the day helping in the temple there. In my home, I read scriptures and pray with my family. I send emails to encourage my son who is serving a Spanish-speaking mission in Salt Lake City.
