Hi I'm Braden

I'm 20 years old, and I'm a missionary in the wonderful land of Auckland, New Zealand! I love Polynesians & to eat Tongan Horse!

About Me

I am 20 years old and am the youngest of four. I am a missionary currently serving in the New Zealand Auckland Mission. I have am on the last year of a two year mission. I have come to love the Pacific people and culture. There is nothing like seeing people change, including myself. I graduated early from my high school and finished one term at BYU before the end of June that year. I played Varsity football for my high school, but my true passion is basketball, though after being here in New Zealand I have come to have a true passion for rugby and plan to pursue it after the mission even more.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church my entire life. For a while I went because that is what was normal thing for me to do on Sunday. Though slowly and surely I started to stop going just cause it was normal, but I started to go because I started to realize what it really was. I began to understand the teachings of the church and have a personal relationship with my Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ. I started to go to receive the blessings that I found came from going. One of the largest gifts that I received was the feeling of peace and happiness that came from going to church and living the gospel. Now this wasn't something that happened overnight. It took much pondering, studying of the Bible and Book of Mormon as well as personal prayer to my Father in Heaven. I know with all my heart now, after truly looking, that Jesus Christ died for me and you. Through his sacrifice, my sins can be washed away and for that I am eternally thankful. I also know that the Book of Mormon is another true testament of Jesus Christ. It is not any more important than the Bible, but instead it is another guide on how to return to my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being fully invested in it 24/7. I try not to be a person that is only a Mormon on Sunday or only when it is convenient, but I try to be the same person I am on Sunday each and every minute of all the other days. I am the first to admit I am no where near perfect, but I still try my hardest. I also live my faith by going where the Lord wants me to go. I have been called to serve the people of Auckland, New Zealand for 2 years of my life, and if I didn't have any faith in my Savior Jesus Christ, my Heavenly Father or the LDS church, I wouldn't be going. In the end my Father in Heaven asks me to try my hardest to live his commandments and gospel and I strive to do that every day and want to share it with everyone.
