Hi I'm Lucas Állan Borges

I'm Brazilian and a programmer. I like to play the guitar, old cars and extreme sports.

About Me

I'm 21, I was born and raised in Brasilia, Brazil. I lived there my whole life. I like to play american football, paintball, stand up paddle surf, and other sports. I went to the college on Brazil. I'm studying Information Systems. I like to have good times with my friends and people around me. I drive a 1974 VW Beatle, that is in my family since 1974! And I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I started going to the Church of Jesus Christ on Latter-day Saints when I was about 3 years old. I Had the chance to learn, since I was a kid, how God is our Heavenly Father and how much He loves us. Following my own decisions, I was baptized in the church when I was 10. I tried hard to keep following Christ and trying to do my best. On my teens, I made some wrong choices and became an Inactive Member of the Church. After few years living totally away from church and religions, my aunt invited me to visit the church again. On that day I started the process to remember that Christ is my Savior. I read the Book of Mormon and decided to pray and ask God if it was true or not. And I got an answer of its truthfulness. I know that through prayer we can talk with God, and He always answers us... That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Live my faith isn't a big struggle. I'm not perfect, but as I try my best to obey God's commandments, including study the scriptures and pray daily, I've found much happiness and hope that Someday I can become perfect even as Jesus Christ is. I also try to always be helpful for those around me. Service is definitely the best way to live my Faith.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Lucas Állan Borges
Mormon Missionaries will simply share a great message about Jesus Christ, His Teaching and His Atonement (Sacrifice) for all of us. They will help you to understand what's the Purpose of Life and how can we find more happiness in our homes, and why it is so Important for us today. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Lucas Állan Borges
No. Even though there is a strong tradition of missionary service in the Church not all Mormon are required to do so. To serve as a missionary is a voluntary work. Like many others, I also served a mission. I served in New Jersey Morristown Mission. It was a great experience and the blessings that came from it were huge! My favorite thing was to see the smile on people's face and the light in people's eyes when they received the Gospel. Show more Show less
