Hi I'm Kevin Reeves

Me and my family converted to the Church in 2009. I am going to serve a mission in Rome, Italy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Georgia as a Southern Baptist. When i was 13, my youngest sister got Glioblastoma, a brain tumor cancer. In 2007, she past away. I finished out my 8th grade year in Georgia as the little depressed kid in the corner. My family then moved up to Utah for a better family environment. It was there that missionaries came to our door and taught us the gospel. All of my family, my mom, dad, and my two younger sisters, converted to the church on Valentines day of 2009. I played high school football for 4 years as a middle linebacker. I went to college for one semester, then decided that I wanted to serve a full-time mission. I am not going to the Italy Rome mission, and I couldn't be happier

Why I am a Mormon

When i was 12, my sister got a brain tumor cancer known as Glioblastoma. She had a 50% chance of survival. Everyone was helpful. We had Make-A-Wish Foundation come and they sent us to Disney World for free. Everyone in the neighborhood came and gave all of us Christmas presents. After Christmas, we decided to move from Utah to Texas, so she can get more medical care. We stayed there for 2 months when they told us that the cancer was now terminal. She was going to die in a few months. Thats when we decided to move to Georgia so we can be around family. Most family members helped us out, while others didnt want to deal with our sad story. On June, 28, 2007 at 8:06 PM, she passed away. And our family wasnt around anymore. To them, the sad time was over. To us, the worst part was just starting. I quit football in 8th grade because I couldnt focus. I was the little depressed child who would sit in the corner and read and not talk to anyone. Finally, we remembered how everyone was so nice in Utah, so we moved up there for a better place to be raised. Thats where we met the missionaries, and where we found the Church. They taught us mostly on the Plan of Salvation, and explained how my little sister was, not just some spirit who may or may not have been in heaven, for she wasnt baptised. Instead, she is an heir to the Celestial Kingdom, and is up there, right next to Heavenly Father, and she is waiting for my parents to join her so they can raise her like they were always meant to. This Church has brought all of us peace when we needed it, and knowledge when we asked for it. Its not just what we have to give to the church, but what they give us in return. I know my Heavenly Father loves us, all of us, just as fathers and mothers love their little children. And thanks to the Restored Gospel, we can return and live with Him again.

How I live my faith

As I was baptised at a young age, I got really involved in the youth programs of the church, which are a lot. We used to meet at the church every Wednesday at 7 to rather learn a lesson, play a sport or game, or learn a new skill. I befriended everyone pretty easy, especially for being the new kid. I went on campouts and Boy Scout activities. Now as I am not considered a youth, my only calling for me now is to serve a mission in Rome, Italy.
