Hi I'm Kathryn Foster

I'm a Mormon who loves to learn!

About Me

I come from a crazy family of 9. Each of the members of my family are high energy people who love to joke, laugh, and spend time with family and friends. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. I am the second to youngest. Most of them are married now. I am a Technical Theatre Major in college, but I go to a liberal arts school because I love to learn about all subjects. I am about to serve a full-time mission in the Philippines! I am EXCITED to live in another culture and to share my testimony of Jesus Christ and his restored gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church. However, I was not born with a testimony. I gained a testimony by being obedient to the counsel of my parents and following the teachings of Jesus Christ. I know that this is the true church because I have seen the blessings and felt the great joy that comes from living a moral life. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a Prophet of God, because I go to general conference and I hear him speak through the power of the Holy Ghost and I am inspired to live a better life. When I follow his counsel I feel my self become closer to the Savior. I know that The Book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ because I have read it many times and I am held in wonder by its simplicity in teaching us what we need to do in order to gain eternal life. I know that it was translated with the power of God by Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God who restored the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. I know this and it has become the greatest desire of my soul to share it with others. That is why I have decided to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I want everyone to feel peace, happiness, and to have hope for a better world. Hope can become sure and firm because it comes through the Atonement of Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

The gospel has made me who I am today. It has become a part of me. I am constantly trying to better my life so that I can become more like Jesus Christ, but that can become a very overwhelming pursuit when done a lone. I am thankful to have Church activities and callings and friends that help keep me active in serving others and to have friends and family who join me in my goals. I love my calling at church! I am assigned to the Nursery where I get to watch the little children and help teach them that they are children of a Heavenly Father who loves them. Surprisingly I always feel like I am learning more from them than they are from me. I always leaving feeling happy and I think of the children throughout the week. I try my best to live the standards of the church every day. This can be hard. Especially when I have to choose not to participate in a play or activity because it undermines who I am and what I stand for.
