Hi I'm Katrina

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in a very small town in the mountains of Tennessee and adopted into a blended family in South Carolina. I have 2 sisters from my mom's first marriage that I was raised with. I have a total of 8 other siblings, a few of whom I've grown to know over the years. I have 2 children of my own who are the greatest blessings Heavenly Father has ever given me. Being a mother is the hardest, most surprising, most rewarding, most frustrating and most wonderful thing that could have ever happened to my life! I'm a bookworm, I'm a lover of ALL music from bluegrass to rap, I'm nerdy, I'm random, I'm rarely at a loss for words. I wear my heart on my sleeve which is a blessing and a curse! I love to laugh, make others laugh and mostly I just love people.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon first and foremost because I know this church is true. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet who restored the Gospel and Church of Jesus Christ to the Earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet that lives here on this earth to guide us in these latter days. What I had been looking for my whole life, I found in the principles and teachings of the church that were established through the translation of the Book of Mormon. It was a feeling I will never be able to put into words the moment I knew this church is true. What the church teaches is what I believed before I even came to know about the Book of Mormon. I knew the church was true for a long time before I became a member, but I know my baptism took place at exactly the right time in my life that led me to where I am now. I have been blessed in so many ways prior to joining the church, but after my baptism, the blessings have poured out in ways I couldn't have imagined before. I had faith that it would be so and just as the Scriptures promised, it was! It feels like life has started over for me and I can't wait to know all of the blessings that Heavenly Father waits to pour out if I live worthy!

How I live my faith

My faith sustains me. There have been times, many times when I've faltered, but Heavenly Father was always there to give me a sign that He loved me and wanted me to come back to Him. I try to live a life that exalts Him and is pleasing to Him by putting others first no matter what. I strive to keep His commandments and do the things I know He desires based not only on the Scriptures, but the promptings in my heart. Every day is a chance to marvel at his wonderous creations on this Earth and to appreciate all that we have been given. There is beauty and complexity and perfection all around us in what are seemingly the simplest things. Recognizing this daily is what fuels me. It's a constant reminder that He loves me. I know that if I live as He commands, great blessings will flow for me, my children, my family and all of those around me. He gave us his son, Jesus Christ, who set the perfect example for day to day living and then sacrificed His life for all mankind. To know that Jesus Christ was perfect and lived and breathed in the flesh just as I do, just as we all do, is a marvelous work in itself. Then to know He died for us, for me, so that sins, MY sins could be forgiven, is just unimaginable. I owe everything I have to Him and what he requires of me in comparison is very little!
