Hi I'm Javier

I grew up in Peru. I came to the United States when I was 7 years old. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Peruvian who has come to love the American way of life. I love to play basketball, football and soccer and be active in my spare time. Some of my favorite foods include pizza, hamburgers, and my traditional Peruvian food. I like to go to school and hope to go to BYU college when I graduate. I work with my dad in his remodeling-construction business when im not in school. Im shy and quiet around people I don't know butt I like to be involded in groups.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents where divorced when I was two years old and in the first 7 years of my childhood I didn't have a mother in the home and my dad was always working so all I remembered from my childhood is going to church with my grandmas, one who was LDS and the other one was a Chatholic. I didn't really care much about church and understand much when I was young, but I always enjoyed going to the primary of the LDS church. Than I came to the U.S. which was a great miracle for us, because we were really poor and never had ever imagined of a different life style and thats when I really came to know that the LDS church was real and true. My Dad got married to a member in our church and we kept going to church here. My parents testimony were so great and steadfast it made me want to keep going to church and learn even more. It was so amazing to know that nomatter where in the world I was the Gosple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints was the same. The members of the church have been amazing, I learned so much by my sunday school teachers, I could always feel their strong belief and love for the Gosple they taught every sunday. Than one day I read the Book of Mormon and prayed if this church and if this gospel was true. While I was praying I felt peace and comfort in my heart and great happiness and joy for reading the book. I came to know for a surety that the church was true. Every time I read the Book of Mormon again, my faith and love for the church grows. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is the true church of Jesus Christ. I know the Book Of Mormon is true because I have prayed about it and the spirit has borne wittness of it. I love and am thankful for my parents and my leaders that have taught me through out my life and grateful for it. I know that this church is true and I can't deny it. Amen.

How I live my faith

I got my eagle scout when I turned 18, being involved in scouts has helped me to reach out to people in my community and especially in my church. I have been able to do service projects by helping other people and I have had the opportunity to teach other younger scouts and be an example to them. I have been able to help and to teach other young men by being involded in church activities and in the classes and it has helped my faith.
