Hi I'm Rebecca

I grew up in the beautiful northwest in Portland, Oregon. I am a college student and future missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music! Growing up I had a talent in learning the violin and later the viola. I loved it so much, I decided this was something I really wanted to grow and develope in. It's not been an easy discipline, but one that I have found to be super rewarding as I have continued to study music education BYU-Idaho. What an awesome opportunity and learning experience it has been these past 2 years in college, and how awesome it's been in sharing this gift with others. Currently I have been working as a caregiver, recently making the decision to serve as a full time LDS missionary. And why would a girl like me make the crazy decision to pause my schooling for 18 months? Well, it's all because I know that this Gospel is true! Why not also share this gift I have been given?

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the simple truths that have touched my life. I know who I am. Where I came from and where I am going. I know why I am here. I know families are central to this grand plan and that families can be forever. I know that the experiences in this life help me learn and grow. I know that when I make mistakes, I can change and be forgiven. And the list continues. That is the beauty I have found in living in a way God would have me live and love. His teachings has taught me my purpose and who I was destined to be. I know that God loves me and each and every one of us. We are His children. He wants us to be happy and bless us in the greatest way imaginable. What comfort that has given me throughout my life. How I can't wait to share this with those I meet. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ will bring you happiness. Not a temporary or artificial happiness, but a sincere and everlasting joy and happiness. That is what He wants for you, and for all of us. To find true happiness in our lives today and always.

How I live my faith

It has become who I am and who I want to be. Everyday is a new day for me to grow and to try harder, to become a better person than I was yesterday. They more time I have put in living the teachings of Christ, taking time to not just read, but ponder what I am learning and then living what I have learned has helped me recognize truth. It creates a strength, comfort and direction in my life. Living as Christ would, using my talents to help others, and even taking the time, looking for opportunities to serve has blessed me. Not only making a difference in only the people I help, but also in my own life. Just ask yourself, what would Christ have me do? And doors of opportunity will open to you. When I live close to the teachings of Christ, it is then that I have found a true happiness in my life. One that continues to grow as I continue to live his teachings in doing my best.
