Hi I'm John Arnado

I am a friend, a brother, an athlete and I'm a Mormon

About Me

i enjoy being outside playing sports, i am currently serving a mission, and love serving people. i love reading the Book Of Mormon ( which is a book of scripture comparable to the the bible, they both testify that Jesus is the Christ and together they create a better image of Christ and his ministry) i enjoy telling jokes and chilling with my family. i have an awesome family they have been an inspiration to me and i would never wish for a different family. My family a mixed family i have three older sisters and one little brother plus an additional two brothers and 2 sisters for a grand total of 8 siblings 5 older and 3 younger. I love my family and will do anything for them. I grew up in a little town in Oregon called Grants Pass and played for many sports teams there and enjoyed growing up there.

Why I am a Mormon

i am a Mormon because i enjoy the life style and the focus on the family they have. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints made my life the way it is i don't think i would be nearly as happy now as i am if i wasn't a member of this awesome church. We believe that the family is the central unit in our heavenly fathers plan for us so almost everything in the church is about families because why would you want to spend you entire mortal life with someone just to loose them in the afterlife. I love my family and know that we will always be together even after this life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the commandments of our heavenly father, by following his commandments i avoid a lot of the distractions of the world. One of the commandments we have been given is to study the scriptures which is not always easy but the reward for keeping this commandment is an increase of the spirit in your life. Which in turn will help you find more joy in this life, I know that all keeping the commandments is not easy but we were never told that it would be easy just worth it. All things that are worth it are only worth as much as we put in to it, so if we put very little in we get very little out of the experience.

What is faith?

John Arnado
To have faith is to hope for things that are not seen, which are true. Faith is also an action word as stated in the book of james "Faith without works is dead". therefore you must act in faith or your faith will diminish. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

John Arnado
you can increase your faith in Jesus Christ by obedience to the commandments and prayerfully reading The Book of Mormon and other scripture. You can also increase your faith by acting in faith or taking those leaps of faith because your faith isnt constant you need to work with it. faith is like a muscle if you stop using it it will grow weaker but if you work it it will stregnthen. What is the Book of Mormon?

John Arnado
The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ really lived, that He was and is God’s Son. It contains the writings of ancient prophets. One of these, Lehi, lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. God commanded Lehi to lead a small group of people to the American continent. There they became a great civilization, where God continued to call prophets among them. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of the prophets. It is named after Mormon, the Prophet who gathered it all together. These prophets knew about heavenly fathers plan, and the mission of Jesus Christ. They recorded that Christ appeared, after his resurrection, to the people in America, and his teachings which he taught while he was there. This book Testifies of Christ and his Atonement and his Love for us. It also helps clarify the message the bible teaches. The Book of Mormon concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true (Moroni 10:4). Why is family so important to Mormons?

John Arnado
why is family so important to the Mormons? Well our families are where we learn the basics of life; How to walk, eat, play, love, and etc. We spend our entire lives in some sort of family, we don't get to choose our family like we can choose our friends but we can choose how the family ends up. If you spent your entire life arguing with your family, you probably don't have a great relationship with them. The Family is the central unit in heavenly fathers plan that's why we start our lives in families then end our lives in a family. In the words of a great movie "'Ohana" means "family." "Family" means "no one gets left behind." Our families help us when we fall and cant get back up on our own, because we are not perfect nor can we become perfect without help from someone else Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

John Arnado
Why Do Mormon Missionaries Proselyte? Well first we should first define proselytize "to try to persuade people to join a religion, cause, or group" according to the dictionary. The missionaries you see out and about are men and women who volunteer 18 months to 2 years of their life to sharing the gospel. They want to share the gospel because they have seen the joy that comes from the gospel. I like using this example, If you go to a new pizza place in town and discover how awesome that pizza is are you not going to tell your friends so you all can enjoy this pizza together?
