Hi I'm Sterling Clevenger

I have lived in Arizona my entire life. I LOVE everything that has to do with the outdoors! I love Heavy Metal music! I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently serving my Savior Jesus Christ, as a Missionary for the Idaho, Pocatello Mission. Before the mission I loved being with my friends and getting away from the stresses of life. I love fishing, spear fishing, hunting, shooting guns, off-roading, camping and just about everything else that has to do with the outdoors. I want to be a butcher when I get of my mission! Eventually I would like to own my own business with that profession and raise cattle. I ain't no DA-GUM Yuppie! I love music! I listen to Country, Rock and Heavy Metal. A few of my favorite artists include, just about every Country artist, August Burns Red, Demon Hunter, Shinedown, Staind, Creed, Redlight King, Volbeat, Hinder, System of a Down and a bunch of others. I am a wannabe guitarist, I cant play much but I am learning. I am a bit of a gamer as well, Call of Duty is my game of choice. I love movies with Braveheart being my number 1 favorite, I can pretty much quote the whole Da-Gum movie! I Love to laugh, I think it is the cure to just about anything. I have 4 siblings, and 9 step siblings and I love each one of them to death! I am an uncle to 1 nephew and 3 soon to be 4 nieces! I am looking forward to be able to share everything that I have learned on my mission with all my friends and family. I love our Savior Jesus Christ and will forever stand by my knowledge and testimony of His Gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

So you want to know why I am a "Mormon" huh? Well I'll tell you right now that if I hadn't had the teachings from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in my life I would be in a whole different situation than I am in now. The standards that people think the "Mormons" set for themselves, are actually standards that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ had established while He was on the earth. These teachings and standards, if we follow them, will help us to ALWAYS have the Holy Ghost with us. Throughout my life I have put these things to the test, and I have come to know that we NEED to continuously strive to live The Commandments. Not only the 10, but all the commandments given from Christ to the Prophet Joseph Smith as well. The world teaches, that the things that are an "Abomination" in the sight of The Lord are okay for us to do, and still expect receive His promised blessings. But why would we be given Agency (the ability to know and choose good or evil) only to receive the same blessings as those who have lived against Gods commandments? That doesn't make any sense! I'm a Mormon not only for the standards, but also for the knowledge of the Priesthood authority that has been restored to this earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. This authority comes straight from God and is given to those who are worthy male members of the Church. I am so happy to be able to use this Priesthood I have been given and lay my hands upon the heads of my family members and pronounce a blessing of healing or comfort upon them when they need it. I have come to know through studying the scriptures and sincere prayer that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is exactly that, The Church of Jesus Christ. All the teachings that Christ established, not some of them or most of them, but ALL of them have been restored. I also know that if any of us have questions about what is true, we can always ask our Heavenly Father in prayer for the true answer. I Love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith as a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is simple, I SERVE! I love to serve people in need of help in any form! Since I am on my mission I have the wonderful opportunity to serve our Savior Jesus Christ and invite others to feel the infinite love that He has for everyone. I look opportunities to do service for people any time I can. Doing service for others brings me an incredible feeling of joy and that's all I need. I don't seek for any kind of reward or recognition because that felling I get is the reward and recognition from our Father in Heaven. " And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." (Mosiah 2: 17)

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Sterling Clevenger
Try it and find out for yourself! I could sit here and tell you till I am blue in the face that this Church is the one true Church, but until you "experiment" for yourself you will not understand. If you are interested in learning more, start taking the missionary discussions. Ask them questions, try to stump them! Take their invitation to read The Book of Mormon, and to pray to our Heavenly Father with a sincere heart and with the faith that you will receive an answer. Then when you have prayed, wait, listen, feel. The feeling that the Holy Ghost will bring to your heart will confirm to you that their message is true. But like I said you have to ask in faith, having a true desire to know if the Book of Mormon is true and if Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, was called to be The Prophet and chosen to restore The gospel of Jesus Christ to the the earth.
