Hi I'm Emily Loveland

I am an avid reader. I try to learn about everything. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a farm in Idaho. I love to learn and consequently, I read whatever I can get my hands on. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Humanities. I am currently working on joint masters degrees in Business Administration and Library and Information Sciences.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me great joy. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. He has helped me through many things in my life and I know it is all because of the truth that He gives me. Many times I have been struggling and I will pray and then open up my scriptures and the comfort and the exact words I need to hear will be sitting on the page in front of me. I know that this is the true church. I have asked my Heavenly Father and have felt the Spirit testify that it is true.

How I live my faith

Everyday I wake up and pray and seek for the guidance of the Spirit in my day to day life. I study the scriptures and then I go out and try to live the way the Savior would have me live. Living the commandments of God is such a blessing that brings peace in my life. I know that as I rely on the Savior, life can't get any better.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Emily Loveland
No. The Church does not endorse just one political party. They encourage each of us to study the issues and to decide what we believe is best. We are encouraged to participate in political affairs but we are not told what to do. It is an opportunity for us to study for ourselves and then to act upon what we have found. Show more Show less

What is the Relief Society?

Emily Loveland
The Relief Society is a great organization for women ages 18 and up. It allows us to meet together as women and to strengthen each other. By having such an organization, we are able to meet and be unified. I know that for me, it is a huge support group. Everything that the Relief Society focuses on is helping others. The Relief Society is so full of loving people that just help each other. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Emily Loveland
Mormon missionaries share a unique message about the doctrine of Jesus Christ. They focus on the Atonement of Christ and about what that means for each individual. They also teach about God's plan for his children and how a person can come closer to our Savior. They teach about the basic beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They also help others to understand a little more about how to find true joy and happiness in life. Show more Show less
