Hi I'm Richi

I'm a college student, music lover, and I'm going to serve a mission in Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Richi. I grew up in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania, USA. I'm the youngest child in a wonderful family. I love music, food, and corny jokes. I love my family and friends. But most of all, I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. Called to serve in Brazil Santa Maria, January 2015-January 2017.

Why I am a Mormon

Despite the challenges our society faces as a whole, I've come to know that we can find goodness and simple truths in the world around us. One of my favorite scriptures says "...whatsoever thing is good is just and true; wherefore, nothing that is good denieth the Christ, but acknowledgeth that he is" (Moroni 10:6). I look around myself and see good things everywhere, things that serve as evidence of our Heavenly Father and His Son - the beautiful planet we live on, the animals that roam it, and the billions of people, children of God, who inhabit it. That's an impressive amount of human beings, most of whom yearn for knowledge, peace, and happiness. Being a Mormon provides me with the knowledge that God loves each and every one of His children. He wants nothing more than for us to be happy, and I am reminded every day that He has great things in store for us, as long as we are willing to love Him and show our faith in Him.

How I live my faith

The first two great commandments are, first, love the Lord with all your heart. Second, love others as yourself. God loves all of His children infinitely, so when we love Him in return, we want to be more like Him by extending our love to others. I try to love Christ and be more like Him every day by serving and bringing smiles to the people around me.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Richi
Mormons only worship Heavenly Father and the Savior, Jesus Christ. Christ and His Atonement are the central to our religion. Joseph Smith was a prophet of the Lord, similar to prophets in the Bible like Noah, Abraham, and Moses. But do Mormons or other Christians worship them? No. We recognize and respect their divine calling to represent the Lord and further His work. We believe that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore His gospel and serve as the first prophet in these "latter days." Show more Show less
